What a wonderful experience it was to dog sled with Vern Halter and his team of dogs through the beautiful snow covered woods! Vern provided excellent information about dog sledding, care of the dogs, and he introduced us to his dogs telling us a little about each one. It's clear that there's a real bond between humans and dogs at... More

We so enjoyed our time at Dream a Dream. It was extremely interesting to have Cindy Abbott tell us all about the Iditirod (I learned a lot except how to spell it..(lol) but the best part is meeting the dogs and the dog sled ride was priceless..

We, as a large group, spent almost a half day at this Kennel during our Alaskan trip and it was not a very memorable experience. Though our host was very kind and very helpful, the overall experience was quite boring. We started with a briefing about kennels and races. It was interesting at first but it lasted too long and... My husband & I booked this tour well in advance of our trip to Alaska. We were traveling in a rented RV and found it easily; there was ample parking available. You won't be disappointed with a trip to see Vern and his place! While I had some knowledge about mushing, I am still processing all the amazing information I... More

Visiting Dream a Dream Dog Farm is a MUST VISIT in Alaska!! As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the cutest husky puppies and the owner Vern. He then showed us all about what its like to train and participate in the Iditarood race! The whole experience got my boyfriend so excited, he now wanted to one day... More

We really enjoyed this true Alaskan experience with race champion Vern Halter. Seeing how the race dogs are raised and trained along with their puppies was truly something special. I highly recommend this. The highlight of our trip!

Very interesting and fun. I brought my visiting 14 year old niece and she was delighted. We enjoyed the informative presentation by Vern Halter, the scenic walk with the puppies and especially the ride being pulled by a team of sled dogs. If you want to learn about mushing, you will love this tour.

We stopped off early in the season. We met the dogs and the puppies, had a sled dog ride on a jeep, saw a movie about mushing and the Iditarod, saw the homestead, and heard Vern's mushing stories including winning the Yukon Quest and running the Iditarod. We also had a presentation about the equipment, rules, and other issues related... More
