Easter Excursion
Apr 2019 • Family
My daughter and I had one day of our AZ vacation to ourselves and wanted to do something the other members of the family wouldn't be interested in. We choose to do an ATV tour. We looked around and found Arizona Outdoor Fun Adventures & Tours. They had everything we were looking for so we booked our tour.

Over the course of the next several weeks we were going back and forth on if my daughter could handle an ATV on her own or if she wanted to take a 4-seat UTV. I brought this up to Terry who was handling the reservations and she offered to keep an eye on the available UTVs. That was really nice of her.

So, Easter comes and we show up and get signed in. Everyone was really helpful and polite. We decided to take the UTV and they had plenty on hand. Our tour guide, Aaron, got us decked out in our gear, gave us a lesson on how the UTV works and took us for a lap around the practice track.

After that it was out into the wild! That's when it got really fun! Cool scenery, fun trails with lots of different terrain - flats, rocks, side hill climbs, and descents, switch backs and few water crossings.

We made a few water stops (Aaron brought plenty) and Aaron filled us in on the landscape, critters, and how much there is to eat out in the desert. We even sampled a little jumping cholla cactus. It doesn't really jump but it got Aaron pretty good.

One of the really interesting stops was the Indian ruins. Aaron spoke of the history of the area, the people who lived there and what happened to them. All very interesting stuff!

Aaron was an awesome guide! You could tell how much he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of land and people. He also cautioned on how important it is to protect the area for future generations. He's got a great sense of humor and would answer any question we had.

If your thinking about a desert ATV tour I can't recommend this outfit enough! Book it! You won't regret it. My daughter and I will never forget this adventure.

What an unexpected "gem" off I-17 North of Phoenix. Beautiful center and nice informative staff. Also good bird watching on nearby path. Great place for lunch across the street (Nora's Cafe)

Quick stop

We stopped by the Visitor’s Center before taking a walk at the nearby walk path. This was a small, but nice center. Friendly rangers. The place was very busy. Good information can be found there for the area.

Heading to Sedona from Phoenix, my husband and I stopped in this quiet little town for a cold drink. We were lucky the local market was across from this Visitor's Center because we didn't know much about the area. The place was small but there were some interesting exhibits about the local plants and animals in this dry landscape, history of the area with plenty of brochures to describe places to see and things to do. The Ranger was really friendly and gave us some great ideas for our drive. We ended up taking a small detour so we could have lunch in the historic town of Jerome. This Visitor Center was worth stopping at!

Heritage Park

I know the new Visitort's Center is 3-4 years old, now, but Tuesday was the first opportunity I've had, to go inside. I can't remember the name of the attendant, but she was very professional and helpful. In-fact, she gave me some other historical locations, to check out, while I was there. I don't know, who was responsible for the inside renovation, but it's absolutely, beautiful. If you're looking for something to do, while you're in Arizona, and not just in BCC, there are so many publications and pamphlets, that it'll almost overwhelm you. I've been coming up to BCC, for almost 34 years, and I always discover a new area. Heritage Park is a great place to check out, while you're there. It looks like they're improving this place, all the time. Bring your family, and have a picnic, near the pond. You'll never know, who or what you'll meet.

Most helpful visitor center anywhere
Oct 2018 • Couples
I’ve never been to a visitor center where the staff really listen to you and are tuned into your interests so they can quickly provide literature, maps and recommendations truly tailored to you. This visitor center and its staff are truly incredible in their knowledge of the area and in their ability to produce exactly the right information to help you decide what to see and do. It’s also the visitor center for the remote Agua Fria National Monument and a stamp is available for your Natl Parks Passport book here. We were totally impressed with the incredible staff and highly recommend stopping here for information on the region. A+ to this great vistor center, the best I’ve ever been to.

Getting off the highway was a fantastic surprise . So very worth the detour. We were headed to the Jerome for sentimental reasons and the visitor volunteers cheerfully offered awesome personalized information.
They also have bottled water for a dollar.
