Big area
Jun 2020
Lots of area to 'social distance' in this covid-19 world. The parking area is large enough to accommodate quite a few vehicles.

Largest City Park in Cottonwood
Feb 2020
Riverfront Park is Cottonwood’s largest park. The main area includes five ramadas with picnic tables, a barbecue, two sand volleyball courts, a large swing set, a five-court horseshoe pit and a grassy area for field games. Two children’s play apparatus are available. One is for 5 to 12-year-olds and the other is perfect for the little hands and feet of 2 to 5-year-olds.

Other amenities included at the park are a four-field adult softball field complex, a skateboard park, an in-line hockey rink, and an 18-tee Disc Golf Course. A four-field youth ball complex is located on 10th Street.

The Cottonwood Riverfront Dog Park is located to the west of the youth complex. This is a 1 1/3-acre facility with 3 areas for dogs to enjoy: a small and shy dog area for dogs under 25 pounds, a large dog area for all others and a training/discipline area available for dog obedience training, K9 Law Enforcement training and other classes. Please review the posted rules and be prepared to observe them or to report violators. The enjoyment of the park is directly related to the observance of the rules. Rules are enforced by the Cottonwood Police Department.

Some of these amenities may be reserved for private activities. Rental fees and cleaning deposits are required on all reservations.

Easy walk on Jail Trail
Nov 2019
Walked awhile on the Jail Trail. We never did see the river, but maybe we went the wrong way? Not very interesting, but I did see several trees with their Fall Foliage, so that made it better! The trail was a bit rocky but flat, so it was an easy walk. Parking on the main street in a lot by the trail entrance was easy as well.

Good picnic spot
Aug 2019 • Couples
Stopped here to enjoy a picnic lunch. The park was clean and appeared to have multifunctional uses: ball fields, children’s play area, walking paths, several covered picnic tables, and benches for resting along the walking path. Enjoyed our lunch.

Great spot for whole family
Apr 2019 • Solo
This park borders Dead Horse Ranch and the Verde River. It has a skate park, picnic tables , frisbee golf course, and playground equipment. There are trails for walking and biking. A nice family park.

Poorly Maintained
Aug 2018 • Solo
I have been to this park many times as this is another place I can take my family for a free (mostly free) activity. The restrooms are poorly maintained, the drinking fountains are awful, people do not smoke in the designated areas but feel they deserve to smoke anywhere, and any time we have bought tokens for the batting cages, they are broken or malfunctioning past the point of being able to use them reasonably.

Convenient But Not Exciting
Aug 2018 • Couples
Staying in Cottonwood for several days, we decided to walk the very convenient Jail Trail in Riverfront Park. Parking was simple and close. The entrance signage good...sounded interesting. The beginning part of the trail wide and groomed gravel. It got less exciting around the corner from entry site...the trail more narrow and muddy (yes, a very wet summer). The lizards and ground beetles were cute but little else. Approaching the muddy "river" a "disturbed" man was talking loudly to himself and, for safety purposes (his and ours), we chose to return to town as did others who were following us. Next.
