Callaghan Vineyards is one of three tasting rooms very close together on Elgin Road. During a recent visit to the wine region located about 90 minutes south of Tucson we stopped for a taste. Very pleasant surroundings. Tasted several of their current offerings. Purchased three different wines. Worth a stop.

We always wonder who ever thought of developing vineyards in the desert. We have been going to Callaghan Vineyards since they opened and they just keep getting better. This is, without question, the superior vineyard in Arizona and many of their wines are better than California wines. The drive to Sonoita from Tucson is beautiful and Callaghan is a perfect... We enjoyed our "flight" and determined that the Callaghan wine glasses were the best offered by the wineries in the area. There's not much seating so you do have to stand and maneuver your way through the people. It would be great if there was some food available to enjoy the wonderful wines with. Lisa is a great "wine guide"... More

Definitely suggest stopping at Callaghan Vineyards during your trip to Sonoita. They were quite a pleasant couple and we enjoyed our tasting experience. We were even poured a couple wines off of the tasting menu. Our favorites (the ones that we purchased to take with) were Ann's and Padre's, and they were reasonably priced.

Visited on Valentine's Day with my wife. Despite the larger than average crowd, the owners greeted us warmly and took the time to tailor the tasting to our tastes and preferences. The wine was amazing. Plus for only $10, your tasting includes 5 wines of your choice and a Callaghan glass! I ended up taking bottles to go as well.... More

The first time I visited Sonoita was about 9 months ago. My friend and I stopped by a couple of the vineyards in the area, before stopping at Callaghan. We were greeted by their vineyard dog right as we got out of the car (any dog lovers out there know there is nothing better than being greeted by the happiest... More

We enjoy tasting the local wines in Southern Arizona. Of all the tasting rooms, I most enjoy Callaghan Vineyards. We ended up taking up a case of their wine and wish we had bought two.... 24 hours in, two bottles consumed already! Wonderful wines, super friendly folks, enjoyable tasting room - though crowded at times!

We visted several of the wineries in this area for the first time. My wife and I loved almost all of the wines here, especially the blends. I have heard the wines in this region were good, and I was pleasently surprized. The pourer knew her wines, as the winemaker is her husband.

Stopped in for a tasting and was greeted by the winery's friendly terrier dog Kiva. The tasting room is really an industrial building housing all the goods to make wine. It is spacious clean and well lit. We were hosted by wine-makers wife Lisa and had a excellent tasting. There is a good variety of wine Varietals, tasty Zinfandel,Syrah,Tempranillo,Petit Verdot,Graciano... More

The wines were overall well done. There was a similar taste in all of the wines that was a little distracting, not sure what it was. A little over priced. Friendly gal behind the bar.
