This small town venue has quite interesting and thought provoking displays of local artifacts spanning several decades, from Victorian life to Hollywood. Yes, the prison history is well represented. Totally worth the swing off the freeway to make a visit.

So glad we stopped here after lunch at Mount Athos! This was really a trip back in time to the old, old west! Wish we could have spent more time. So very interesting!

It was a small museum, yet, it managed to tell the story of it's history and inhabitants well. I found a disturbing display of hanging nooses, yet it was part of the town's history. Great old pictures and items.

Really enjoyed the variety of things we saw. Reminded me of some of the things that I grew up with. We're very pleased with the help we received regarding a specific interest we had. We were given a folder of very interesting information .

Like many small museums there was a sign in book, next to that a self-guide with little factoids about the artifacts. The whole museum is comprised of 3 rooms, 1 holds older artifacts from Native American inhabitants, old typewriters, cactus furniture, etc. our favorite things...More
