Nice memorial
Mar 2021
I probably should rate this higher, but there's really not much to the park and it's not something to go out of your way to see. There is an artifact from one of the towers and an explanation of how it got there. Some benches with a fountain. There are a couple tables so I guess it would be nice place to stop and eat while on a road trip. No restroom.

Always remember

I try and stop at any 9/11 memorial. I grew up only a short distance from Shanksville PA. We can never forget what happened that day.

A reminder from New York
Feb 2020
Lynn Jones brought an artifact from NYC: A huge clouger from New York.

Now we have a park that reminds what happened in New York.

There were shelters and lots of sets to sit.

I am glad that Lynn Jones brought it here. We will remember!

A must see!

A part of the memorial park from New York. Wow!
Mar 2020
A person in Gila Bend went to New York and asked to bring a part of what happened in New York.

They accepted that he could bring to the Gila Bend.

He explained everything of what had happened in New York.

There are chairs to sit. There is lots of shelter.

Well Kept

What a lovely memorial this is, with an information board on how it came to be this small area is beautiful with seating and a water feature. Well maintained in a scruffy town it was a pleasure to stop and reflect for a while

9/11 beams comprise the Memorial park

Very patriotic memorial to the 9/11 attack. Townspeople have made a shrine of the memorial, complete with candles.

A moving tribute.

A small but very special place to remember those poor souls who lost their lives on 9/11. I am still amazed at how a small steel girder with flowers and a candle placed upon it can evoke such strong emotion. This small tribute really does attract your thoughts to how precious life is and to prayers for those we have lost. Credit to those people of Gila Bend that made this happen.

A wonderful tribute

The town of Gila Bend won a bid for a piece of the south tower that fell during 9/11 event in NY. They did a fine job getting it to AZ, and made a wonderful tribute.

VERY SPECIAL. In our opinion, this is a do-not-miss attraction. We would have driven right past it had it not been for Trip Advisor posting it as an attraction under Things To Do in Gila Bend, Arizona.

Stunning the fact cities and organizations could petition the 9/11 Authorities in New York City to get onto a waiting list for artifacts of the World Trade Center (WTC) Twin Towers. After eight long years (I quote the informational board) Gila Bend was awarded a piece of the South Tower with the stipulation they would have to arrange to travel to New York City to pick it up and transport it to Gila Bend. An almost 2,600 mile trip, heroic member of the Gila Bend Community, resident Lynn Jones, made-it-happen. Its first public appearance in Gila Bend was on November the 5th, 2011.

The Gila Bend 9/11 Memorial is a beautiful park and touching and meaningful tribute to the memory of 9/11.

Exceptional tribute and memorial

This is really well done. A water fall and picnic tables along side a steel beam from the twin towers that makes you think back to where you were on that fateful day and to all who lost their lives. The 9/11 timeline was interesting and the veterans brings near it were a nice touch as well.
