Extremely Rude
Feb 2021
Had an encounter with a rude gentleman who told my son to put his mask on after he had pulled it down for a 5 second picture by the hot sauce display. My husband apologetically said, “I’m sorry. We were just trying to take a picture.” To which he responded, “I don’t care.” We immediately decided that our money wouldn’t be spent in a store with such rude customer service. When I told the man how rude I thought his comment was, he simply said, “you saw the sign when you came into town. If you can’t follow the rules, then leave.” Keep in mind that my family of 5, all wearing masks over our mouth and nose, were the only ones in the store at the time. Some people have apparently lost their manners as well as their common sense during this pandemic. Save your money and your time and support those who actually appreciate their customers & treat them with kindness.

When in (JE) ROME
Jul 2019
Last year the wife and I received free airplane ticks to go anywhere in the lower 48. I have never been to AZ and really thought it was about the time in my life to visit. We spent almost two weeks there. Fling into Phoenix, going down to Tucson then to Prescott, then Sedona, then painted, desert, then Grand Canyon, then Page, then onto the Navajo and Hopi nations. Absolutely fantastic time! It’s funny how things on the map seem closer than they acutely are LOL. Going from Prescott to Sedona one takes the “interesting” Route 89A (If you have not taken the road, I suggest you do so with caution and not take any large trailers with you and don’t try to drive a bus through it. The local police have earned more in fees in getting vehicles off the road then you can imagine. Seriously the sign before entering the road needs to be MUCH LARGER.) Anyway, at the end of the road is the mountainous town of Jerome. The center is quaint with many an interesting shop. I really loved the wooden bowls with Turquoise in them however was able to resist the urge. What I could not resist was going to the Jerome Ghost pepper company. I like hot stuff. Although sometime it doesn’t like me LOL. This place has tres mild to tre tres hot both sauces and salsas. The owner is a nice guy who is happy to let you sample to your hearts’ content. When it gets too hot, he offers you some honey powder to cool the taste buds…really does work. The location is not on the Main street however it is in a lower one that is parallel to the first

Seemed like a cool shop. Was going to buy some sauce for myself and family I'm headed to see in Phoenix. But as I headed next door to use the restroom, I committed the unforgivable sin of not ensuring the door was shut behind me and the guy literally screamed at me. Never been treated worse anywhere.

Something for everyone
Mar 2019 • Couples
This place may be small but they have it all. They have the sauces ranging from wimpy to 5 alarm lol. But for me it's all about the salsas. Those are made by them. Unlike the sauces which are ordered from somewhere else. I highly recommend the pineapple salsa. It says medium but it's really not super spicy. Great flavor.

Salsa and Prickly Pear Sauces
Aug 2018 • Couples
In Jerome, you enjoy the mountain top views, eat, and shop. This shop is a great place to stop to pick up the unique flavors of the Arizona peppers and prickly pears. They make all kind of salsas, sauces and spreads and offer many samples. They are priced on the high side, but they offer a very wide variety of flavors.

This shop had a really nice selection of salsa and hot sauces. One section was all locally made salsas and they were really good. They do have samples, you just need to ask.

High Priced Hot Sauce
Nov 2017
I stopped in here when passing through Jerome to pick up some hot sauce as a gift. I found an intriguing hot sauce made with prickly pear and hope the person I am giving it to will enjoy it. I would have bought more than one bottle, but some were way overpriced, in my opinion. The one I purchased was a completely reasonable price, but it seemed like the hotter the sauce, the higher the price.

You can try befire you buy so you know which heat level is best for you. Not a tomato salsa fan? Their peach salsa is fantastic! A visit inside their bordello/store is well wirth the visit! Enjoy!

HOT STUFF
Oct 2016 • Couples
Jerome Ghost Pepper Co. is located in the town of Jerome, AZ. This is a very interesting and unique town situated on the side of a mountain at 5,200 feet in elevation. It is an old copper mining town that went bust, was considered a "ghost town" and now is a tourist/artist destination. It is designated a National Historic District and has a lot of personality. Not very big, but has shops, restaurants and great views. The Jerome Ghost Pepper Co. has a shop on main street that sells a wide variety of salsas and sauces from mild to very hot. You can have samples to help determine what suits your tastes. If you like heat, try the "Reaper".
