This was our first stop in Jerome on the way to the Mine Museum (another must see). The kids thought this was super cool. You can look straight down the shaft while standing on a plate of glass. There is windex and a rag there to clean off the glass as the area surrounding it is dirt. The info boards... More

This does take long and it's free. It's cool to check everything out. Amazing that it's still standing. Cool photo op.

Half way up the hill to Jerome you will find the historic park and outside the Audrey Headframe park which a fairly run down old mine display. it is free and open to the public with some information of its history and definitely worth a stop in the whacky old town which is a great place to visit. Jerome has... More

Its a small park but worth the stop. The view is crazy, you get to look down the mine shaft and realize how big it was. And its free so no reason not to check it out.

You get a close up view of an actual mine shaft that goes 1950 feet below ground!!! You'll like it if you like historical ingenuity!!

It's a short stop and is free so take 10 minutes and walk through and read some of the information. It offers a glimpse into mining in the early 20th century. It was definitely a dangerous profession. I guess not much has changed.

The best part about this attraction is your ability to look down a mine shaft from a glass platform. It is absolutely fascinating! It is very safe, so don't worry about stepping on the glass.

So worth the short stop right outside the Douglas Mansion. Could be easily missed and really a fun sight.

A free attraction in the area once you leave the State Park Museum. Good photo opportunities. This will only take 10 minutes.

We enjoyed this very much. You get to look straight down a mine shaft while standing on a glass floor. Being afraid of heights, I was scared! My boys on the other hand loved it. Not much to see but kids get a kick out of it.
