Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went as two couples to the Global Village and enjoyed perusing the shops and the stalls. There was no pressure selling which makes a change from other places visited during our trip

A wonderful place and people.
Sue and her Team arranged at short notice the catering for a family gathering of over 20 people to celebrate the life of my Father.
She and her team gave us the perfect private location under a fantastic grapevine. The food and service was excellent (her chef put together a special menu to suit all out needs) and the whole event was handled perfectly by them with care and understanding.

Went to the restaurant at 11h00 this morning 02/01/2022 for breakfast .
We were told that we are too late for breakfast and they cannot bend the
so-called rules . It was all of 6 minutes past 11 .

I live in Plett and will not patronise this rubbish establishment ever again . They
would rather lose business from 3 guests !!!

Typical small town mentality and they can go to hell . Bunch of wankers .

After lockdown businesses are picking up very slowly. The business was really not busy. Very few people but lots to see. Many beautiful art and crafts. Variety of everything. Outside needs attention. The pond a bit full of stuff that could be removed. Hope that the workers can come back soon.

Great place to relax, browse the quaint shop, walk in the gardens, get car washed, and grab a bite to eat. Excellent coffee and pizzas - large with thin base - and topped off by fast and friendly service.

Such a quirky, quaint and unique spot in the heart of Plett!!! Could spend hours in the curios shop that has a huge variety of hidden treasures!! Make sure not to leave without having the restaurant's succulent burgers... Paired with an ice cold beer!

We arrived a bit before opening time, but the manageress was quite happy to prepare a meal for us... didn't see any other staff around, apart from the gardener! We sat indoors, in the sun but out of the wind and had a view from the window of the stunning gardens. I looked around the store whilst I was waiting for the meal... which didn't take long to arrive at all! Replete with having had coffee and a tasty breakfast, I could then continue with my retail therapy. All in all, a pleasant experience!

I took a group of 38 guests to this place, and the women told me that they felt like they were not seen, as for this day at 11.30am the staff was unpacking stock, and felt like we were in their way...pity and only 2 guests had a drink, as no one bothered asking anybody for about 20 minutes into us sitting outside, waiting for service...

came upon this place on our way from Robberg island. The staff were very friendly, tried their delicious mixed berry (not too sweet) iced tea and had a relaxing lunch amid magical gardens with plenty of activities for the children.

We’ve been coming to Plett for the past 25 years, and have always gone to the Global Village and see it as one of the iconic memories we have when thinking about Plett. We haven’t been back for 5 years but are now here on holiday, and after a long walk around Robberg nature reserve (which we CAN recommend) we thought, let’s go to the Global Village for a milkshake and some cake!

We arrived (only 4 cars in the car park which was surprising) and sat down when the waitress came over. I asked her if they did milkshakes and she shook her head - no. Apparently the milkshake machine was broken!! Then we asked if we could have some cake - they only had one slice of carrot cake left, and wouldn’t let us see the cake we wanted to eat - normally you see the cake on display which entices you to choose one, but it was hidden which we found strange?!

We ended up leaving after asking to speak to the owner - who was too busy on the phone to even come and speak to long time customers who are now disheartened about this place.

NB this is not a reflection on the shop, which I believe is not connected to the restaurant.
