We originally planned to stay for one night but on arrival seeing how beautiful and peaceful the place was we decided to book straight away for a second night. We were endeared by the old colonial style, open fires and kind staff. Our room was the favourite of our trip with a four poster bed and a huge bathroom with... More

Though I am a South African, and used to visit the Kruger National Park and Pilanesberg in my school years, I make it a priority to visit Plett Game Reserve as often as possible. I don't think "Boutique Game Reserve" is a term - but as it is small - the staff are superb at giving each guest the best... More

Words cannot start to describe the experience. I met the owner of the Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve when he stayed at one of our self-catering apartments in Stellenbosch. I had guests from the USA the following week and we were planning to go to the Elephant Sanctuary in Plett, but were still looking for accommodation. He offered us accommodation at... More

The location is beautiful although when we arrived the price was not as agreed and was way above surrounding luxury accommodation and did not include any extras whatsoever. The staff seemd to not want to work and the food was okay. Wouldn't recommend it.

We enjoyed our 3.5 hours game drive with a fantastic and knowledgeable guide. As it was my 30th birthday, the game reserve was very gracious to give us a private safari which I personally enjoyed so much and considered as a sweet gesture by the management. The game reserve had all the animals we were after and it was amazing... More

Loved the luxury accommodations and being met by the nyalas in the yard in the morning! Were planning to stay one night but decided to stay an extra night because we loved it - it felt like our own home! Regina was exceedingly nice and helpful. Safari was superb!! We saw all of the big 5 except the rhinos and... More

We enjoyed a 3 hour game drive here with a very informative and entertaining guide. While you do get up close to the animals, they are all obviously used to the vehicles and the predators are all in their own enclosures so you won't be seeing a lion chasing a zebra here! That said, a great way to spend a... More

Althouth they refer to this as a Game reserve, the drawback was the fact that the Lions, Cheetah and wild dogs were in enclosures and are fed meat. I feel that in a game reserve they should be also allowed to hunt freely. there are not too many different types of animals. For the price of R590 per person, felt... More

Staff were great, however for a lodge in a game reserve we could not understand why no food was proved during the day, not even a biscuit. You are expected to drive 1/2km to get food during the day, Game were not easy to see from the lodge itself and appeared not to be encouraged.

We first visited last year, I did the vehicle tour while my husband did the horse riding tour. We visited again today - they now have elephants as well as all the other animals. As we drove thru the main gates we saw 2 rhinos right beside the road! My husband again did the riding tour today - he's not... More
