Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

First know it is a long tour day. You will see a lot in one day from Chapmans peak, boulders bay, cape point to the botanical gardens. The view from Chapmans peak is lovely. The boat ride to seal island is not so much to see the seals because they are there in the harbor anyway, it's the scenery that is beautiful. So if the weather is half decent take the boat ride and enjoy (warning it will be several degrees cooler on the water so a jacket might be nice to have along).
We had Elaine as a guide and she was great. The first stop at the store wasn't too necessary but everything else was great.
The penguins are adorable. We really enjoyed seeing them.
The stops at Cape point and the light house are must do tourist stops. They are pretty but at the light house watch out for the baboons. We saw a lot of them and they are not nice or cute. They will steal your stuff, we saw one steal a soda from a woman's hand, rather aggressive buggers. So be warned about them if your guide doesn't mention them.
The botanical garden was nice but probably would be prettier in the spring when more is flowering but it was still a nice stop.
Overall the tour was well run, we saw a lot in one day but never felt hurried or stressed.
My only ding on the entire thing was with Springbok's office- answer emails about pickup times! I sent in 2 emails asking to confirm the pickup time with NO REPLY to either. We had to assume it was 8:30 pickup but they came at 7:52 and we were not ready. They had to go pick someone else up and come back for us at 8:10 which meant we had to rush and skip breakfast. Not cool. The office needs to answer emails and give people the actual pickup time. Otherwise this would have been a 5 star rating.

Good experience to see wildlife. We spent a full day there. The ranger was professional, but we were a little disappointed because we were not able to see the leopard. He is active during the night only. The area is fully protected by fences within the place of lions.

The drive out from Cape Town is not too long and shortened by the stunning scenery around you. If you are in Cape Town for a week this is a nice way to travel out to see something different. I didn’t expect too much but was delighted with the day out. Great fun and a good set up. I took my wife, two daughters and two of their friends (all older teenagers) and they loved it. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything very well. The truck was fun to bump along in and we got extremely close to elephants, lions, rhino, giraffe and zebra. Will please first timers on safari, teenagers and kids that just want to get close and see the animals. Good day out!

Just to start, we were told we will be picked up at our hotel at Sea Point at 8:30 a.m. sharp. They showed up at 9:30 a.m. When we got to the Reserve after a long two hour and half drive we were told by the receptionist that according to our reservation number we had already done the safari early in the morning and left back to Auckland. Oh, yes, really??? We called STA Travel at 91 Loop Street (from which we booked the tour) and they kindly help us by obtaining a new reservation confirmation number from Aquila's reservation department. We went back to the front desk and the same rude, obnoxious and repugnant lady told us that there was no new number for us on her system and that 'IF WANTED TO DO THE SAFARI WE HAD TO PAID IT IN FULL TO HER AND TRY TO GET A REFUND FROM STA TRAVEL OR FIND A WAY TO GO BACK TO CAPE TOWN AS WE WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO RIDE THE TRANSPORT BACK TO THE CITY". And this point I just plainly lost it and started demanding to see the manager, which showed up relunctantly after we were trying to clear things up for almost an hour. After the manager look into the problem she apoligized and asked us to take the safari, which by the way, was just an O.K. experience. I would STRONGLY RECOMMED to do the Kruger Safari in Johannesburg instead of risking an appalling and dreadful experience as we had to endure at Aquila Game Reserve Wildlife Safari from Cape Town.

You have to buy your tickets for the cable car on your own (why does the tour operator not organize this).
At Table Mountain, the guide does not know, whre the queue starts.
- Then he decides the queue is too long and we will not go up.
- What do you do with the tickets?
- Very simple: If you do not go up you throw them away (no refund).
So, why do we have to buy tickets, if we do not go up? Our tour guide: "Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work".

The cost of the Table Mountain cable way ticket is not included in the cost of the tour, as the service is weather permitting.
We advise guests to prepurchase the ticket online, in order to avoid spending unnecessary time in two queues (the queue to buy the ticket and the queue to enter the cable car).
Guests are able to claim a refund from the Table Mountain Aerial Company for unused tickets, within 7 days of the travel date. It also allows guests the added opportunity to use the cable car on alternative days within the 7 day timeframe, should the mountain be closed on the day of the tour.
We are sorry that this was not explained to you properly at the time.

The safari was a little over hyped and the distance to travel a little too far. Travel in an old minibus not great. 5 hours travelling in total. Felt that the safari was a little staged regarding most of the animals. The guides though are knowledgable and certainly aware of not annoying the animals such as the rhinos who had young with them on our tour. Don't expect a lot of bang for your buck, unless your visiting one of the large parks then this one will do.

As the closest Safari to Cape Town it is nice. Its a cool tour and guides are very knowledgeable. One tip though, they messed up my tour and I ended up doing the half day tour, which I would definitely suggest. Its less money and you do the same tour. The only difference is you don't have time to wander the spa, which could just be seen as a waste of time.

Having worked in the hotel industry for the last 20 years as well as having stayed in many many safari lodges, I was very disappointed. My partner booked this for us as a special treat and for the money he paid, I have stayed in much much better places for half the price. Upon arrival my first impression was wow, however it just went downhill from there.
We started with lunch which was our first disappointing experience. It was an extremely hot day (37 degrees) and all the main food was hot as well as hot dessert (no ice cream), I would’ve hoped for a quiche, cold meats etc when it was so hot.
As we had finished lunch and there was no where to go, unless we sat in the blistering sun (as all the chairs in the shade had been “booked” with people’s towels on) we thought we would chance it and see if we could check in early. My partner went to the desk and asked at 1pm. After waiting 15 minutes, he was promised it would be ready by 1:30 so we waited. When finally it came to 2pm and no one had still come to us (we were right at the front desk) we queued for our key and were finally taken to our room only to find this not clean.
A manager came to see us to apologise and offered us a bottle of sparkling wine. Whilst that was a lovely gesture the fact remains that don’t offer something you cannot deliver.
Next we went on our game drive and it was great to see the animals we did see, however the guide drove very fast, past many animals and didn’t even give us a chance to look or capture some pics.
Dinner was again disappointing and resembled a lot of what had been offered for lunch.
When coming back to the room in the evening, the room was filled with mozzies and miggies. I realise we are staying in the bush and this is to be expected, however surely a netting over the bed would have been suitable so you don’t get chowed by mozzies in the night. Considering we had WiFi I was very surprised that there was no phone to call reception to get some doom or something, and as we had the furthest room away, we did not feel like walking back at that time of the night, therefore we grinned and bared it, however a very restless nights sleep was had.
The morning drive was much like the day prior and when you are getting up early, you kind of want it to be worth it. I realise you can’t guarantee seeing the animals, however at least give us a chance to look.
Breakfast was tasteless with no flavour, seasoning or spice. The only thing I enjoyed was the fruit, which you don’t cook and unless you serve them rotten or not ripe, should be good.
It is such a shame as I really do believe this place has a lot of potential and could be fantastic with just a few small changes, good service and good food, which would make paying R7500 a night, worth it.

Visiting Cape Town as part of tour. Read if it's not windy and if it's sunny go to Table Mountain asap. Weather can be a problem. Went on Sunday without purchasing tickets online. Line was long and we had to do line to purchase tickets also. But the good news it took only one hour to get to top the mountain (I was expecting a Disney-class line from hell). Cable car's floor rotates so everyone gets a great view. Terrific views and nice trail around top. Would hiked up but I damaged my heel prior to trip.

The tour guide (Super) was very friendly and knowledgable but overall the experience wasn't great.
For the price I think the cable car should have been included. And because you have to rush off the the city sights tour I feel there wasn't enough time on Table Mountain. The diamond shop at the end seemed a bit pointless also.
In hindsight I would have just spent the money on an uber to Table Mountain and stayed up there all morning.
