Just go! This is a brilliantly executed Museum and testament to the history of South Africa and the Apartheid struggle and the hope that has sprung forth since It is an architecturally stunning place and you need at least four hours to do it justice

This is not a art museum but a history museum and if you always wanted to know everything about Apartheid, how it started, who are the people involved, the timeline of events you got to visit this place. If you want to see and read every exhibit and watch all the video, I suggest you put aside two days.

This is one of the main attractions in Joburg. It is worth spending a few hours here especially if you don't know much about South African history. Some of the exhibits are a little difficult to follow. The photography displays are excellent

To fully understand the Republic of South Africa, one needs to visit this informative museum which represents accurately the history of the apartheid era.

Apartheid Museum was my favorite place in Johannesburg. The exhibition shows pictures, movies, objects and the laws in force by that time. It's a good opportunity to understand this horrible period in South Africa. Besides it's important to be aware of the past so that we don't repeat the same mistakes.

A thought provoking experience. Very atmospheric and well presented museum. A difficult subject to cover but I felt it was an honest, dignified and appropriate account.

Don't get me wrong, this is a very important and amazing museum. You can spend many hours there. Entrance fee is 80 per person. But... the museum is partly in a bad state. We went there on a rainy day and it was raining through the roof (pictures added)! Also many of the panels outside are bleached really badly by... More

The museum is a must-do thing in Joburg. How much history is showed behind these walls. Unforgettable

We spent three hours at the Apartheid Museum on the final day of a two week holiday in South Africa. I wish we could have spent longer, as 3 hours is the minimum time you should allocate. The entire experience was very moving and sobering, because whilst I was aware of Apartheid, being Australian, it had no immediate impact on... More

We were very surprised by the quality of this museum. It takes you on a real journey. But, be warned, it can be quite an emotional journey! Very informative. Would definitely recommend a visit when in Johannesburg.
