Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The replica of the Blue Mosque in Turkey is quite remarkable. Beautiful architecture.
Neat and tidy place with some shops and turkish delights.
So after I visited Turkey I made a point of going to the Mosque.
Brought back happy memories.

We stopped for juma namaaz on our return from warmbaths enroute home.
The mosque is built turkish style entirely.
Beautiful architecture and beautiful dome feature inside mosque.
Ladies facility very small and cramped. Stairwells are so dangerous and steep and twisted in style. That too in marble. No access for wheelchair or baby pram. Very makeshift curtain for a beautiful mosque.
The entire cistern fell pff the wall onto my daughter in the women's toilets. These washrooms and toilets kept filthy and no helper visible to assist or keep.area clean
Sadly i will not revisit.

Beautiful mosque. It is definitely worth a visit. It is beautiful, well maintained and clean. The exhibition is also good. However, I wish that the shops were better. They stock very little. The Ottoman restaurant is good.

I have long been wondering about the magnificent mosque which is visible from a considerable distance as you are driving towards Pretoria, so was keen to join a small group of friends on a visit. Pam had phoned ahead of time and organized for someone to tell us a little more about the background of the Nizamiye Masjid, which was the brainchild of a Turkish business man and philanthropist. A young Turkish teacher met us and from him we learnt that Nizamiye is a replica of the Selimiye Mosque in Edime Turkey. It took 3 years to build (2009 -2012) and most of the artisans were brought in from Turkey, as were the materials. It is not only a place of prayer, but the precinct also houses a school and a clinic, shops and restaurants.
Nizamiye has a basic web page where you can get the contact numbers, and my suggestion would be to book a visit. Also remember, because it is a place of worship, wear appropriate clothing, ie. arms and legs covered, and ladies, bring a scarf to cover your head. You will also be asked to remove your shoes when you enter the mosque, which is truly spectacular. Lots of white marble, the domes and ceilings are all hand painted, the carpets are opulent and the walls are covered with the most beautiful tiles. Our guide also took us into an adjoining gallery which depicts art and framed replicas from the Topkapi museum in Istanbul.
After our tour we shared a typical Turkish lunch of kebab and grill platters at the Ottoman Palace, which I can highly recommend.
All in all a day well spent, and for us locals a good destination to keep in mind when you have visitors to our city.

A few weeks ago I was asked to assist by judging a science project at the Nizamiye school. The creative ways of all the young participants (age around 10 to 16 ) with projects of alternative energy and eco friendly ideas was impressive. The discipline and dedication also outstanding. with a friendly and respectful way of interacting with the adults. It was an uplifting and beautiful experience

It looks beautiful on the outside. But you cant really go inside and take a peek. Its free to enter, but woman need to wear a Hijab provided by them and that was where they lost major points. the clothes where filthy! filled with lipstick and make up from previous guests and ultimately I did not see me wearing something that was on someone else head and that dirty!
The food is sooo expensive We bough 2 Spinach and Feta Quiches the size of my palm and a loaf of bread for the house, and the total came to R95.00. and the quiches wasnt tasty at all.
overall If your bored on a Sunday and you have your own Hijab to wear its a OK visit, but there are much better things to do in Midrand.

Well worth a visit to experience the architecture. There is also a small museum for viewing. Ladies are required to wear a head scarf. No charge to enter. Donation box available
