In the heart of Sandton is this amazing centre with more shops than you have ever seen in your life and what labels they have. Lots of places to eat and soak in the atmosphere of Africa with all various tourists visiting. Great statue of Nelson Mandela to see and hotels behind such as Michelangelo which is absolute world class.

It's actually a brilliant place with fantastic eateries and shops all around. The ambience and energy around this place throughout the day is captivating. You can get anything to eat here, there are shops ranging from groceries to high end luxury branded retail. The size of the complex is so large that I haven't been able to cover it completely... If you are visiting Sandton you can't miss out on Nelson Mandela Square and Sandton City. They are effectively one. A world class shopping centre with almost everything under one roof.

Mandela Square is full of great restaurants. I have eaten at several of them and they do not disappoint. It is nice to sit outside and enjoy the weather. There is also a large statue of Mandela which provides a great photo opportunity. There is plenty of parking.

Having grown up coming to Sandton, I always enjoy a return visit to the Square when I'm back in SA. It is a place for the whole family. Lots of lovely places to eat and in the summer, a water fountain to cool the kids down (so bring a camping towel just in case). And a photo at the foot... More

The first time I visited Mandela Square was a week after Mandela died it was very emotional and touching. I've been back recently and the Square is still a very nice visit, you can't go to Joburg unless you visit the Square

Nice to see the statue, but not much else to see. Good restaurants for lunch and supper. Many of the restaurants on the square may be a bit cold in winter, but great in summer for dinner. Ample parking and next to the Sandton City shopping mall.

I love coming to the Square. A great variety of food and drinks. A place to reflect and remember a great statesman. You can also connect with a world of shopping.
