You start a tour in Botha's Hill and follow the bendy Old Main Road trough Drummond, then turn right towards Nagle Dam the R56, you will experience the most beautiful and stunning views of The Valley of a 1000 Hills. After about 13km you may cross the Umgeni River and turn left along the river between huge granite mountains, after... More

Zulu life reenacted by exciting Zulu dancers and singers to give an impression of their old lifestyle before european intervention! Very enjoyable and colourful. Crocodile Park and Viparium is worth seeing as well.

If you have one day, plan a trip through the valley of thousand hills. Very scenis environment with multiple stops and ZULU attractions, like a village visit alongside. Make a stop, dont rush through - its worth it.

This is the real sightseeing place where one needs to visit to enjoy the beauty of nature. Here one can also see the route where world known Comrades Marathon is run.

A visit here has no attraction for me; however, recently 2 UK couples staying with me visited and rated highly their visit. Thus, contrary to my past practice,I will henceforth recommend overseas visitors to include this on their Durban itinerary

It was nice to see something different, but I feel they rush through the acts as I do it so many times a day. It definitely shows through their acting.

Valley of a 1000 Hills is a lovely place for a drive to see the local stores and get the most incredible views. Many restaurants to choose from and lots of things to do!

The views at this venue were stunning, and worth the visit. There was a Zulu cultural show and an explanation of Zulu marriage customs and living. In one hut, visitors were able to sample Zulu beer. The experience would have been much better if the visitors were given an introduction to Zulu medicine, such as the use of tree bark,... More

I had to travel from Durban to Greytown and Kranskop andn on the way back, passed through the Valley of the 1000 Hills. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of that landscape with its many rather step hills and huts on top. I hadn't expected anything like it and was falling in love immediately. A total contrast to Durban and... More

Great views for many kms, stop along the way for coffee and lunch, at various places to enjoy the different view points you can get over the valleys. Been coming up here for weekend drives for 20 years and still love it.
