So close to Durban but so worth a visit

Without a doubt one of the most inspirational places I have ever visited. The emotional aspect of the Zulu culture pulled the heartstrings. The animals were up close and the safari drive must not be missed. A real have to go if visiting KZN.

This is an amazing place to come and see in 1000 Hills. Crocs, Zulu dancing, restaurant, safari and curios! Nice for the whole family.

We spent half a day here. The fake Zulu thing is disappointing with dancing, dress up etc all very ordinary and unspectacular except you do get to taste some pretty revolting home made local beer. The small private game park was good because we got up close to animals including antelope, wildebeest, zebras and a fantastic close encounter with a... More

I travelled to RSA a couple of times for work and went here twice. It is a little condensed and rushed but you get to see a cultural show as well as some wildlife. So for a short drive and modest cost you actually get a fantastic experience. As with all these type of places you can see the modern... More

This was a great cultural experience of the Zulu culture. The dancing, cultural stories and the Zulu beer tasting was awesome. Loved the view over the Valley of the Thousand Hills. Nice gift shop. We enjoyed the Croc and snake park. Lovey lunch at the restaurant although there were some items on the menu, which they did not have. I... More

If you are after a cultural experience, a bite to eat, tourist gifts and a scenic view while in Durban this is the place to go. Offers safari tours, Zulu cultural dancing, a shop for gifts, snake and croc park and breathtaking views.

To experience the Zulu culture, this was a worthwhile visit. It is well organized within the 'village' so that you can see the dance performance in a sheltered area - out of the sun! The snakes and crocodiles were worth a look but I was fascinated by the weaver birds around one of the croc pools. We found the guides... More

We absolutely loved this place where we saw zulu dances, listened to cultural stories, saw lots of crocs and snakes and ended our visit off with a wonderful traditional South African lunch at their boma restaurant which has a spectacular view of the hills and mountains. We really really loved it, it was one of the highlights of our holiday.

After four rainy days in Durban, we decided to look for an alternative to the sodden beaches. We were two families, with a total of five young kids (between 1 and 10 years of age). A brief search on Tripadvisor suggested that the Phezulu Safari Park offered everything we needed: animals, zulu dancing, cute shops and good food. So off... More
