I have been a customer of Govindas for years. The food is always freshly prepared, staff helpful, and pleasant. The variety of dishes is impressive. As a strict vegetarian, I am assured of hygiene and fod preparations free from all meat derivatives. The queues are long, and wait sometimes tedious, but this is a testamont to the quality of food... Nestled in the suburb of Chatsworth, this temple offers tranquility amid the bustle of a busy area. The pictures on the ceiling are colorful and inspiring. Overall architect of the building is well worth admiring. On a weekday you could pray peacefully. Small resultant below temple serves good food. Worth a visit if you are in the Durban area.

During our visit to Durban we visit this temple that really worths a visit. It is very beautiful, and people that take care of it are very simple, simpatic, humble and it was wonderful to hear about this culture and principles. We felt a very good energy and peaceful.

Although I am not religious, religion does interest me and Hare Krishna's strike me as fairly similar to Hindu's (I am sure to have offended someone with that statement but I am merely explaining how it appears to me, no judgement on anyone here) I like how we were made to feel welcome and invited to have a good look... Beautiful architecture depicting different stages in Lord Krishna's Life on the ceiling of the temple. You can get vegetarian lunches and takeways below the temple. Very good!

Visited in the late afternoon on a Sunday just as a service was beginning. Joyous and beautiful. Friendly people happy to share their beliefs with outsiders. Very cool architectural space and grounds. Easy to forget you are in the city.

No food compares to that of Govinda's at the Hare Krishna Temple of Understanding in Chatsworth. The serenity and calmness at the temple complex is out of this world. As for the food - the spread and all round scrumptious sights, smells and sounds is truly fantastic. The range of delicious eats and treats, coupled with the beverages and yoghurts... More

We went to the Hare Krishna Temple in Chatsworth yesterday. We started with a beautiful prayer upstairs that lasted no more than 25 min. After that we ambled downstairs and eyed the large Koi fish swimming by in the moat around the temple building. We then went inside Govinda's Restaurant at the bottom for some real flavoursome Vegetarian Delights. I... More

We had lunch at the resturant down stairs. There are a selection of meals, as well as small snacks that give you a taste of many flavors and so many you can substitute a full meal with a taste experience. We visited with our infant, all of us were welcomed. People are very friendly and helpful.

This is a dining experience that will delight your senses, thrill your taste buds and cleanse your karma at teh same time. The food is prepared with love and offered to the Lord before being served to you. This HARE KRSNA temple has a quaint restaurant with the most divine food you have ever tasted.
