A quiet space along McCullough Blvd. There are a great deal of books, audio media, magazines and newspapers as well as a bank of a good number of computers for anyone’s use. There is an ample sitting area with tables and plugins for electronic devices. There is no fee for a library card. The staff is very helpful and there is an electronic machine for quick check out. The staff will also check out books. There is an area of used books for sale. They have a separate children’s area. They have a self serve area of free jig saw puzzles where you can pick up a puzzle or drop one.off. There are clean restrooms available. If you cannot find a book you want the staff will search other libraries and order it for you. There is an outside drop off for books and audiobooks for after hour drop offs.

When we travel, libraries are always high on our list of places to visit, not because we need more books, but because libraries say so much about the community itself. Look at the bulletin boards, see what kinds of activities there are for young people, elderly seniors, and for community-based services they render. In this case, the listings included an adult colored pencils hour and we imagined that would be a big draw in this community of retirees. The library is quite large, the staff were helpful (but not intrusive), and the childrens' section was bright, colorful, and very inviting. Inside, a father had 2 of his children on his lap and he was reading a book to them. This is the kind of community LHC is, family-oriented. Their "Friends of the Library" resale section had some great buys and excellent selection. There was a book on Ellis Island and, paging through it to see the photos, I felt like I could have been staring into the eyes of my distant relatives. Slavs, Lithuanians, Russian Jews, Irish, Germans ... the whole "kit 'n kaboodle" (as we would have heard spoken in the late 1800's). The library is clean, has ample places to sit and read in a comfortable chair, and does not turn anyone away; however, we did see a Security Guard inside so it is safe to assume there is a reason for his presence. Locate this library on the beginnings of the McCulloch/Main Street part of town, just before Wheeler's Park.

I have gone to public libraries since I was 6 years old. This library was efficient at getting me a new card and describing how the library system works here. It is modern, well lit, the shelves had plenty of books of all genres, the computers were handy and available, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I was not expecting a backwards outpost with little on the shelves, but I was truly impressed at how much this library branch has to offer.

This is a small, in my experience, but well stocked library. Staff is very helpful and if they don't have a book that you would like you are able to request it from other libraries in the system. Turn around time is very quick. Computers, meeting rooms, activities, magazines, all types of reading material and books on the area are all available. Books! What more could you ask for?

Staff is very nice and accomedating. They ordered a book I wanted that they didn't have from another library in Kingman and it arrived a day letter.
