“Worth it!”
This grand museum is the former home of a wealthy miner and still contains many examples of period furniture, paintings and glassware.

I loved my visit to this house as it is something like I have never seen before. I went on a Ghosties tour and loved the stories behind every room and the previous occupants. PS - no ghost sightings for me.

Interesting history! Would probably have enjoyed it more without my 3 year old wanting to play with the miniature tea sets.

Breathtaking and amazing quaint manor. If stories of yore is your thing then you would absolutely love this. Tours are R40 pp for adults and kids are R10 pp of which you can purchase at the office.

If you like to see and hear old stories then this is the house, it takes you back into time. But Pilgrims town is deteriorating, many houses closed and lots of vendors. its becoming a ghost town. But passing by was a nice experience

We enjoyed our visit to Alanglade House very much ......it's absolutely stunning and we would recommend this if you're lucky enough to be staying in Pilgrim's Rest. Our tour guide, Cherrie, was soooooo knowledgeable and fun.

We thoroughly enjoyed our (very cheap - ZAR20pp) tour of the house. The guide was enthusiastic and informative and the house is very well done. The gardens and the surrounds however need a lot of attention - the few employees on site appeared to be...More

This is a big no. It changed into a cultural village where all one can buy is more African "art". You park your car, and upon return, it was washed without you requesting so, just to make a quick buck. If you then try to...More
