2018 annual trip took us to Tankwa. We saw some game but most of all we found peace and quiet. First night of stay-over was in Perdekloof. My opinion on sight value was that stand 1 was the most spacious for a bigger group. We...More

If you like distances and open spaces, this is definitely your next trip! We took the roads less traveled through the Northwest via Northern Cape and ended up in the Tankwa Karoo National Park. We had the 4 days there totally to ourselves since the...More

Gripped by a vicious drought, this park is looking very bare at the moment, but the landscapes are still staggering and there are a lot of roads to explore. The corrugation is bad on some of them, but most are ok. We stayed at De...More

This was our second stay at this camp staying the same unit. The camp is wonderful in that the units are very well spaced from one another which means total privacy and peace and quiet. The scenery is beautiful, the views vast and the nights...More

If you love wide open spaces, then you will love Tankwa Karoo. We saw lots of animals even though it was quite dry. Beautiful scenery and stunning views from the top of Gannaga Pass.

A beautiful scenery wild and vast. Not easy to reach but the trip is very inspiring. Be sure you have enough petrol and the right type of vehicle. You need to be prepared for a long gravel rough roadtrip though.

This is the third time we have travelled to Tankwa Karoo since 2013, I can safely say that with the exception of the main road traveling through the park none of the other routes have seen any form of grading, meaning that you are going...More

Seven great days of scenery. DeZyfer, Elandsberg, Gannaga Lodge and Varschfontein. Unfortunately these units need "basic maintenance". Taps, door handles, windows, drains, etc. Some roads are tough, but most roads are good. The viewpoint road at Elandsberg needs 1st low range for a few kilometers,...More
