Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Limnos bakery should be honest with customers especially now that they sell perishables.
I visited Limnos Canal Walk on February 17, 2021 to place an order for a birthday cake (carrot cake) to be collected on the 18th of February 2021. The Cashier offered me a carrot cake that was in the fridge and i said no I would like to place a special order because I want it freshly made as I would keep the cake for the next few days. She said it’s alright your freshly baked cake will be delivered the following day.
When I went to collect the cake on February 18, 2021, the cashier handed me a box. When I opened the box later when I had got back home, the cake was already cut/demarcated I could see this was not a fresh cake. It was a special birthday cake order and why would the store demarcate/cut my cake? I phoned the store and enquired about the cake was cut? I was informed that they had not taken delivery for the day, so they gave me what was available, and they highlighted that delivery for the day was coming later. The shop instructed me to bring back the cake.
When I got back to the shop, the lady who was assisting me could not get a quick approval from the manager. I then decided to go to your competitor to buy a birthday cake as I was not sure how long this was going to take before a decision is made. It took about 45 minutes for the shop to reach the manager who then resolved that Limnos could grant me a voucher not refunding me. I expressed to them that I do not need a voucher anymore because of their sloppiness, I already made alternatives for the birthday cake. I asked for the refund, but the shop decided not to refund me but for me to keep that very cake..
Since, I had already bought another cake because of Limnos failing to resolve my case in time, mis-representing information about delivery of the cake and on top of that cutting my birthday cake, I would like to be refunded my money I paid for the cake.
As if that was not enough the Cherele one of the Managers was not apologetic at all, I called her this morning and she agreed that the cake was not delivered on the day meaning no special cake was ever made for my order. She was screaming at me that Mam we cannot make loses yes my staff made a mistake but that will be addressed in a staff meeting no apologies no remorse on my side.
That means that Limnos is forcing me to donate r500.

I have an account with Tyme Bank that has a business relationship with Pick n Pay, that allows Tyme Bank users withdraw cash at any Pick n Pay. When I was in need of cash and made my way to the Pick n Pay, they told me that they do not have cash available for me to withdraw.
It is outrageous of the thought that a supermarket, in a huge mall, apparently don't have any cash for the customer to withdraw.
my experience was unsatisfactory, that just spoiled my entire shopping experience, knowing that in 2020, situations like this still exist.

It's frustrating when a product doesn't meet expectations, and it's even worse when Timberland in Canal Walk refuse to honor their own policy. According to Timberland’s policy, items can be returned within 30 days of purchase, but when my dad tried to get a refund for the faulty shoes that fell apart after just one wear, they flat out denied it! In the images you can see they were purchased on Saturday. And to top it off, Mariam the manager he dealt with was incredibly rude. This whole experience has left us feeling furious and extremely disappointed in their customer service. I hope they can step up, honour their policy, and make things right.

I went on Christmas Eve and so did half of Cape Town. It was so crowded that it was hard to appreciate the shops. There was a mixture of the usual high street shops and unique South African ones. There were cafes and a cinema complex. It is quite far from the centre area where most tourists congregate.

Century city Canal Walk shopping mall is quite a large mall. However, in comparison with other smaller malls one notices that the services provided are similar, a lot of the open space can be better utilised, parking needs to be paid for and is overpriced. Further it does not offer anything really special that makes it stand out. A real let down.

This is a beast!! the place is huge and the range of shops is stupendous. You can get lost in here for hours. Everything from lots of dining options to all types of brands and names. From toys to sports to furniture and groceries, all under one roof.

Absolutely love this shopping center. Variety of stores to shop from that are reasonable in price. The shoe store selection is few. There are family entertainment venues in the mall that will accommodate all ages. A train for children and parents to hop on and ride through the mall. Security is visible for your safety. There’s a food court and several nice sit down restaurants. The options for eateries even included a few vegan/ vegetarian options.

The unoccupied and uncleaned books and crannies of this massive complex is a real issue for someone with kids. Parking issue to be resolved if more are to be attracted.

I would like to inform you both of an awful experience that I had at Canal Walk yesterday. I know that Canal Walk has got bad press lately, so I am always very cautious and I only go to Canal Walk if I absolutely have to. I was sure to park my car in a 'safe' spot right next to the disabled bays on the left hand side of the Mugg and Bean entrance in the Mezzanine level. I did see a security guard patrolling on his bicycle.
I was there for about 1 hour, and when I came out my car was broken into - no broken glass, but a jimmied lock, the fuse box had been ripped out of its socket and the car was trashed inside. Rubbish lying all over - nothing was stolen as I did not have anything valuable in my car. Like I said before, I am aware of several people who have had similar experiences at Canal Walk.
However, the most shocking was when I called security over. The guard didn't believe me that my car was broken into saying that I could have just left my car like that - filthy.
He then radioed another security member (I have no idea who - I asked him to radio center management). The person on the other side of the radio said that if there is no broken glass, it must be the tokolosh. That was the response I got from security. They didn't come over and take details. They told me that the tokolosh (magical creature) broke into my car.
That shook me more than the break in. While I was talking to the security guard, I got the distinct sense that he was trying hard to delay me with the tokolosh story. My bag was on the passenger seat and the keys were in the ignition, so it would have been very easy for an assault to take place. I quickly realised that something was not right, and tried to leave immediately. The security guard kept trying his luck with the tokolosh story. I was able to drive out of the car park. But perhaps next time someone else might not be so lucky.

This shopping centre includes almost all the stores one can think of. It is spacious and always clean, with toilets easily accessible (although it is time for an upgrade of them). There are escalators and lifts, a huge food court with a range of options for vegetarians, meat and fish lovers. There is also a range of movies showing throughout the day and the theatres are well-maintained, with good sound and seating. Parking is available under cover and in the open, both need to paid for, but at a very reasonable rate. There are several coffee shops which are a treat when needing a break from the shopping. Overall a pleasant experience if you are in the mood for some serious shopping.
