Thanks Marlene and Babsi for taking the time to give us feedback on your Vamos Township Tour with Nela. We hope your lives are richer for visiting Cape Towns's oldest township Langa.
Out Tour guide Nella gave us a wonderful insight into the life of people in Langa Township. Everyone in the Township could not have been more friendly and made us feel very welcome.
I initially had some reservations with regards to visiting the Township but...More

Great social experience, far from the classic penguin/wine tasting/etc. must do in cape town, but a must do nevertheless. If you want to get a chance to see how the community works inside a township that's the best way. Our guide Namhla was fantastic, explaining...More

Hi - we took exercise books, pencils and coloured pencils. Because of the water shortage, we also gave them anti-bac hand gel and wipes. I dont know if this was needed - just wasn't sure what to take. On our tour we visited a nursery school and this is where the gifts were given. To be honest, the stationary wld be more appropriate for primary or secondary school kids so perhaps consider if your visit includes a school - what age group. If nursery, maybe some balls or finger-paints/ simple play items rather than pencils. Hope this helps a little.
