Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our experience with Julie was very positve, starting from the first contacts by email several months before our trip to Cape Town. Julie is a very friendly and knowledgeable person. She helped us to plan two day tours and booked for us whale watching boat trip and safari in Aquila game park. The boat trip was unfortunately cancelled at the very last moment due to bad weather. Julie helped us to reschedule the whale watching to another day and arranged her colleague as a guide, as she was not available that day. The day tour to Aquila was perfectly organized, with wine tasting and shopping for local food specialties on the way, and very enjoyable conversations. Julie also helped us sorting out some problems in our hotel, going beyond her service as a guide. Thanks Julie for the great time we had in Africa!

Julie was a wonderful guide! She was so friendly and informative and went with the flow when it seemed appropriate to alter our schedule. We highly recommend her if you visit Cape Town and Stellenbosch!!

Julie has a vast knowledge of the area and her tours are fantastic. However, it doesn’t end there. Julie was an enormous help in planning the Garden Route section of our trip before we arrived in SA as well as helping us after with a vendor that did not ship our goods.

Words cannot begin to express how WONDERFUL our groups private tour was with Julie for 5 days. I don't think it is possible to put into words how much Julie customized our tour to meet the needs of our group. Each day we had people flying in from Texas to join the tour before a conference we were attending. Our tour size ranged from 6 people to 18 people, and she managed to arrange INCREDIBLE tours and meet the transportation needs of our group daily.

On the first day our group was scheduled to go on the City Tour and head to Table Mountain. Julie had the foresight to realize the weather would be bad, so took the initiative to change the order of our tour and take us on the Wonderful Wineland's Tour. We had 3 incredible wine tasting tours during the day. Stopped in the town of Stellenbosch, enjoyed an incredible lunch and toured the picturesque village of Franschhoek. I can attest to the fact that Julie knows were to take the group for wine tasting because one person in our group purchased 310 bottles of wine to send back to the states because of the quality and price..

Day 2 started with a magical tour of Table Mountain, followed by seeing the colorful houses in Die Bo Kapp, followed by the Castle of Good Hope. We were treated to an authentic Cap Malay meal at Groot Constantia before heading to the beautiful Kirstenbosch Gardens. MAGICAL!

Day 3: Our Peninsular Tour was a fantastic opportunity for our group to travel the coast road to Hout Bay and follow the GORGEOUS scenic Chapman's Peak Drive. What a great opportunity to see so many animals, visit Cape of Good Hope, visit Cape Point, and enjoy seeing the Penguins at Boulders in Simonstown. Julie's knowledge is exceptional and the group was engaged every step of the way. Our lunch spot was really interesting because we had a baboon alert. A baboon had entered the kitchen at our restaurant. It was so interesting to see baboons and other animals all throughout our tour.

Day 4: Our group was excited to visit the Private Game Reserve in Aquilla. However, words cannot begin to express how incredible the scenic tour is to Aquilla. We saw at least 50 different waterfalls coming down the mountains as we made our way to Aquilla. At Aquilla we enjoyed an amazing lunch before starting our tour. Will you see the Big 5? Yes! We were up close and personal to 3 lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, ostriches, and about 5 other animals. The tour blew me away because we were able to see everything except the leapard.

Day 5: Julie helped us arrange a tour to Robben Island, which is a MUST if visiting Cape Town. Since this was close to our hotel, she made sure we were taken care of as well.

I have traveled all over the world, and Julie is by far the BEST TOUR GUIDE, now friend, I have ever used. I cannot imagine visiting Cape Town without booking Cape Splendour Day Tours. For a ONCE IN A LIFETIME EXPERIENCE, book Julie today!!!

Our tour with Julie was a highlight of our visit to South Africa. Along with the major scenic stops we were able to spend some time at some areas we had specific interest such a local weekend market.

Additionally, Julie was very helpful with helping sort out some other areas of our trip with transportation & running down something we'd left at the hotel - going above & beyond.

We'll recommend her for our friends or family visiting the Cape Town area in the future - thank you!

If you want a fabulous guided experience in Cape Town and surrounding areas, make it your priority to connect with Julie Clarke at Cape Splendour Tours.
We had the great fortune of riding with Julie for three of our four-day stay in Cape Town (on the other day we visited standard tourist attractions like Robben Island on our own). She is highly knowledgeable, affable, flexible, punctual and has excellent taste in restaurants, and is an excellent driver on top of that.
The only thing missing from our three days was perfect weather, so Julie skilfully rearranged our itinerary to give us the best chance to visit the summit of Table Mountain in glorious sunshine (which we did) and maximize our outdoor activities when an umbrella wouldn’t be necessary (pretty much accomplished that, too).
She is very personable, and our conversation flowed from the get-go, whether it was about local history, politics and geography, or about the personal things you talk about as you become friends with someone, as we did over our three days together.
We hope TripAdvisor readers take the opportunity to tour Cape Town with Julie. She will enhance your experience many times over.

We must give the highest possible recommendation.
We thoroughly enjoyed our full-day tour with Jeffrey in his comfortable Mercedes. Not only did Jeffrey accompany us to all the places we had asked to see but he also gave us enlightening insights throughout our leisurely journey, whilst driving with great care, attention and patience. Nevertheless, he pointed out wildlife and fauna as we went along!
Based on our dialogue during the day, Jeffrey incorporated a few additional stops, which made our tour truly personal.

Julie came highly recommended, so when we decided to head to Cape Town she was our first call.
She took care of getting us picked up at the airport and even booked our hotel.

We spent three days with Julie seeing the sights in Cape Town. By the end of the third day we thought of her as a friend. We left the three days up to her as to what we should do and see. Her ideas for us were perfect.

I can only give 5 stars and Julie deserves 10+. This was our 4th visit to Cape Town and the 4th time we engaged Julie to show us around the surrounding area. As always, she turned up trumps. She is an excellent tour guide, she adapts the day to whatever you want to do without fuss and with great efficiency. The fact that on every visit to the beautiful city we have used Julie shows how much we appreciate her tours. We would never use anyone else. She is so knowledgeable and adaptable. On our first day, the rain set in but this didn't stop her finding us things to do in wet weather circumstances.
My sister became hospitalised during our stay and although Julie was then on a well-earned holiday she kept in touch with Christine by email and phone during her hospital stay - well above her role as a tour guide.
Please use Julie when you visit Cape Town. We know you won't be disappointed, both in terms of the tour and Julie herself.

Prior to our Safari, we spent 3 days in Cape Town. Julie was instrumental in arranging everything from airport pickup to showing us sites and arranging drop off again at Cape Town airport. For these first time visitors, she was wonderful. She was very flexible. We spent the first day in the city. The District Six Museum was very enlightening. The second day we spent traveling the coastline from Cape Town all the way down to the southwestern most point in Africa, the Cape of Good Hope, we climbed the old lighthouse, stopped along the way to visit the small rural village. We enjoyed a lovely lunch with a beautiful view. The sole was delicious. We saw Penguins, seals, ostriches, Bo Kaap houses, and beautiful nature! The day was full, but not stressed. Julie’s roomy van made the trip pleasant and comfortable. I can definitely recommend Julie . She is a native and has over 20 years of knowledge and stories to share.
