Easy if you're relatively fit, difficult if you're not. If it's windy at the trail head, the cable car may close due to high wind (> 25km/hr) while you are hiking up the trail so don't depend on using the cable car to get down so be prepared. Take water and a warm sweater as it can be chilly at... More

My wife and I hiked the India Venster trail. The views and experience of climbing the mountain are so much better going up via a climb compared to just the cable-car. If you have time, and ability I highly recommend doing this climb. The views are absolutely amazing. We found it to be challenging but very enjoyable. We started at... More

Hiked up as the cable car was closed. In my hotel receptionist's words 'my Grandma could hike up there, no worries'. This is completely wrong - I later found out she'd never done it herself. It's an enjoyable but at times challenging hike - but it's definitely a hike not a walk. Suitable clothing, footwear and supplies should be carried... More

This was probably the most difficult hike my friend and I have ever attempted. We started from Kirstenbosch gardens via Skeleton Goege. It's absolutely stunning and very rewarding when you get to the top. We initially hiked up to find the secret lake that our friends told us about but we walked all over and couldn't find it. The hike... More

We accessed the mountain from Newlands Forest, which is in the Southern Suburbs. The view of Table Mountain from this side is, in my opinion, much prettier than the internationally recognised view. You will need to wear decent walking shoes and ensure you have drinking water with you lest you find yourself dehydrating along the way. We packed a little... More

Table Mountain trails are amazing. Some are easy, others aren't but the views, the surroundings make you wanna go till the end, no matter what.

My first trip to Cape Town and a must to see Table Mountain. My concierge at the hotel suggested I walk the Platteklip Gorge route up and then take the cableway down. The Platteklip Gorge route is just over 3km long (3.15km as measured by map my run app) and as a first timer I did it it 1hr 24m,... More

Four of us did this hike, started at 9:30am. Sun was just beginning to get intense and well before we reached the top it was very hot. So start early if you wan to avoid some of the heat. The hike itself is very strenuous as everyone else as mentioned. It starts out not to bad they gets more and... More

We hiked up via Platteklip Gorge. What an amazing experience. Once we got up to the trail, it was a bit unclear as to when the path splits, so we went onto Google Maps to find the correct path, going right would take you along the base of the mountain using Contour Path, turning left would take you all the... We hiked using a guide from FollowMe2Africa and Lisa was wonderful. It is simple enough to do by yourself but her knowledge of the fynbos was more than great. Took a few hours but she would point out different sounds, animals, and flora and tell us about the unique ecosystem on Table Mountain. It was really special and I am... More
