Though the beach is still popular, the elegant splendor that once graced this seaside resort community barely shows through the paved-over streets, fast-food eateries and shopping centers.

Although it is mainly know for its surfing, the beach is great for long walks and wading. The water is warmer than on the Atlantic side such as at Camps Bay. There are lots of restaurants next to the beach and the atmosphere is made more exciting with all the youthful energy of the surfers

a beautiful if windy place to walk the beach . The water was chilly but the beach was unpolluted and beautiful.

The Muizenberg Beach front is beautiful. Ideal for surfing and swimming. It also has a lovely walkway along the beach if you cannot walk on the sand. Lots of parking and good security. Many restaurants on beach front.

One of the best beaches to swim in CT. Make sure you go before around midday otherwise you will get blown off the beach. Great falafel at the corner shop. Head down into Palmer St - lots of up and coming designers, hip cafes - old school Muizenberg.

It's a cute little beach town that's very chilled. We were lucky that we had a few days of milder winds, so we had a go at surfing (rented a surfboard and wetsuit for R110 for 2 hrs) on what our more experienced friend dubbed "beginners waves". Actually, there were a LOT of beginners out there, including little kids who... More

I think all of us remember the brightly colored change rooms that is part of the Muizenberg beach. It was both a walk down memory lane and a happy day to spend with some fine local people. A must visit if you are in Cape Town.

Big open sandy beach with big surf and often a howling gale especially in the afternoon. There are always surfers here from early to dusk so it's a great place to watch them from the upstairs of the row of cafes behind the beach. Best value food Lucky Fish, nicest view Live Bait, good alternative Tigers Milk the music is... More

Dropped in for an icecream one afternoon in early January and couldn't get inside the shop, the queue was so long! Took a walk along the beach and watched a few people surfing the small waves, looks like a good family beach.
