I just love this place which seems still to look the same as in the early 1900's. So full of character.

This was such a Quaint little beach, we almost missed it as we drove by. But I love the feeling here with the buildings! So colorful

I have been going to St James Beach since I was a small child. The tidal pool is the best place to take small children because they are protected from the waves - it is a great place for them to start learning about the sea and enjoying sea water. The water here is also warmer, so the children can... More

This is a lovely beach that is lovely and quiet in the morning. Also near the train station. There is a lovely change area as well as a wonderful tidal pool.

St James is a wonderful place for families with young kids. Lots of little rock pools for kids to fish in and the tidal pool is ideal for swimming. There is also a grassed area if you don't want to sit on the sand. There is also a lovely walk way to Fish Hoek.

Situated at St James' station on the False Bay coast this is a very popular family beach. The bathing boxes can be used and their is also a rassed area for those who do not want to sit on the sand. The pool is large and safe for children. St James is relatively sheltered from the prevailin South easterly wind.... More

This little beach with its brighty coloured change houses is ideal for those wanting to get a way from the madding crowds of the more favoured Muizenberg of Fish Hoek. It is basically a seaside rock pool where kids get to play safely and fun can be had by all. It is a bit small, so arrive early in order... More

Good place for children. The tidal pool is safe and rock pools full of interesting sea life. Walkway leads from St James to Fish Hoek - nice for enthusiastic hikers

You arrive at the beach via a subway tunnel under the railway track. Not a big beach, but pretty and sheltered. Safe swimming in the tidal pool. Can get very crowded, which is it's only real downfall

Plan on spending some time in the Brass Bell in St. James. A wonderful collection of restaurants and pubs. And the South African wine flows everywhere.
