This is a lovely beach with a great drive off the N2 with good parking. We really enjoy this beach but not so impressed with the holiday village at the end of the road which doesa not interfere with the actual beach.

This is such a stunning place of beauty - on the one side you have the beach where you can swim and walk your dogs , and on the other side you have a beautiful nature reserve. This is an unspoilt beach for everyone - all aspects are rewarding from the rock pools, the sand the wildlife you get to... More

Amazing place where you can see both sunsets and sunrises as the form of the small peninsula faces both east and west.

The beach/bay is quite a long drive from the main road and at first it looks as if there's nothing there other than a long beach. However, once round a bend in the road you see the cluster of houses and then realise it's quite a big conurbation. If you carry on through the estate you'll arrive at the long... More

Buffalo Bay beach is the next one along from Brenton on sea, and it is smaller and quieter. The seas are pretty rough so if it's swimming you want Brenton beach is safer and more child friendly. At Buffelsbaii village there's a cafe on the point with toilets. The deck gives spectacular sea views so a great lunch spot. The... More

We were staying very close to Buffles Bay and went there one day to see the Indian Ocean, paddle in the water (which was very cold!) and watch the crashing waves. Just around the corner from the main bay there were fishermen fishing from the edge of the shore. Definitely somewhere to go for a bracing walk but probably not... More

Buffalo Bay is a short journey by car from Knynsa. It has a long scenic Bay, sandy and rocky and rolling surf Crashing against the rocks. The water is cool and not recommended for swimming. On the way back stop at the Flippin KNYS backpackers lodge for tea and the wonderful pancake. Set on the old Knynsa to George railway... More

Lovely stop off the beaten track (situated between Sedgefield and Knysna just off the N2) On route there is a lovely restaurant - the Riverdeck - that serves traditional 'boerekos' and the best lemon meringe!
