Brenton-on-Sea is great for walking and sunbathing and is popular with paragliders. A big rock formation, castle Rock, is a favourite fishing spot for locals. Swimming is dangerous because of rip currents.

We felt the best part was not the "end" where the beach and café are but stop before this and park facing the sea by the information boards. Just sit and watch the sea break on the rocks, beautiful.

This is a blue flag beach. Natural and unspoilt. Life guards on duty. Clean and non polluted. Not crowded and relaxing. Water is moderate temperature and safe for swimming. Amazing views and breathtaking stretch of the beach. A definite must stop on the Garden Route.

We visited Brenton in late November on an extended road trip. Early afternoon we came back from the beach and parked on the high street, albeit facing traffic. As overseas visitors we were not aware this was an almost capital offence. We returned to the car within 15 minutes to find we had a parking ticket R500. Whilst attempting to... More

Brenton on sea is a beautiful beach just a few kilometres of the city centre. It's good for long walks, swimming or just enjoying the breeze. Even though we were there during the busy holiday season in December, the beach was not overcrowded and one could easily find a spot. A great spot for a relaxing day at the sea!

This is a very lovely beach in a lovely area. It's also one of the cleanest beaches I have visited. Pack a lunch and come for the day.

Brenton on Sea is one of those beaches that make you want to come back whether to swim or just to enjoy the views. We visited in the week before Christmas and it was busy but not overcrowded and uncomfortable. It was such a spectacular visit.

Blue flag beach in this lovely part of the Garden route. At the car park on the beach there is the Brenton Haven Hotel which has a restaurant and a coffee shop. A good 5km walk will take you across to Buffels bay.

An understanded beach that is perfect for walking and playing on the rocks. I could go back and read there all day.
