Brenton-on-Sea is great for walking and sunbathing and is popular with paragliders. A big rock formation, castle Rock, is a favourite fishing spot for locals. Swimming is dangerous because of rip currents.

Superb beach and stunning views from the cliffs. Better in the sunshine but still impressive when raining.

Thank You I am writing to express my family’s heartfelt gratitude and all praise to the four women group of Donely, Veroli , Patricia and First Nkwalase, who prepared and served our food during our impromptu visit to the Butterfly Blu Restaurant at Brenton Haven outside Knysna. On Saturday, 29 October 2016, I was down in Knysna for Cape Town,... More

What a charming, unexpected place! First, you have to park and walk - it's not a long walk around the village and very peaceful. Start at the old Anglican church, wander along the lanes down to the water'd edge and back - thoroughly delightful.

Lovely quiet long stretched beach where you can wonder for hours. If you are unable to walk there are lovely benches to sit and enjoy the view. There is ample parking. A lovely formal restaurant and beach café where we had good coffee and scones. I would recommend staying here.

A very pretty beach, but a very long walk down. We enjoyed the beauty of the rock formations and the fact there are coves making for a peaceful visit. The beach is not full or busy.It is one of the prettiest beaches we have seen around Knysna/Sedgefield area. The only problem was the long steep walk down from the parking... More

A little off the beaten track but all the better for it. A glorious long sandy beach, ideal for relaxing or walking plus good parking, toilet facilities and a couple of nice restaurants to boot. Brenton on Sea is unspoilt so, whatever you do, don't tell anybody about it

The previous day we got delayed and could only go to Knysna Heads. So we somehow saw other places quickly and made time to go to Brenton on Sea. And it was really worth the effort. Such awesome views that you can just stare at them for as long as you like.
