It is a beautiful farm. The pigs and goats next to the centre were also a treat! Very informative and we really enjoyed the owls! Especially when they come and sit on your arm. Kids will love this!

Getting close to wildlife is always a thrill and this place doesn't disappoint. There are morning and afternoon shows, leaving time for some wine tasting and purchase. The only criticism I have is that the 'restaurant' prices are too high for what sandwiches they've got...More

The proposed wine tasting took something of a backseat once we entered the Sanctuary for injured and/or “human imprinted“ birds ( and others!) at the Spier Winery We enjoyed the pigs and goats before spending 45 minutes looking at the various birds - all of...More

We were staying at the Spier hotel, so this was a convenient place to visit. We loved the passion from all the team at the centre. They clearly care for their animals and we were impressed by their knowledge and enthusiasm. Well worth a visit.

For children and adults, this is a fascinating look at owls, vultures, eagles and other birds with a lecture and demonstration of skills by an expert. I wasn't expecting to see such an attraction at a wine estate, but the site is so large, the...More

Great to see this as part of the Spier Wine Farm. Devoted handlers and volunteers only a few quid (UK) to get in. The best flying display of raptors we have seen, birds behaving themselves, in flight catching of ‘prey’ by Rocky the Kestrel spectacular....More

I visited Eagle Encounters about a year ago for my Instagram (wineandwonderlust) account and really enjoyed the experience. It was very educational and the animals looked happy and well taken care off.

Spier is a great family outing. We went on the Birds Encounter where they care for rehabilitated birds. They have beautiful Owls which you and kids can touch. The bird show is also awesome, my 4yr old and 9yr old loved having the Owls fly...More

A fabulous place to visit and educate the children about the different raptures that we have in this lovely country of ours. Also a small piece of heaven for photographers to go and practice their skills in birds in flight. Financially they are struggling, but...More

Was hesitant about visiting this place reading the negative reviews but was so glad I visited. I learned that 65% of the birds are able to be released. Enjoyed the bird demonstrations and talking to the staff, especially Danielle. I even got to hold and...More

Hi, we just paid on the day, we arrived in the morning and the show was at 2.00pm so we wandered round the zoo, then the rest of the complex, had some lunch and come back for the show. They gave us a stamp on our hands so we... More
