This wonderful market is located at the Oude Libertas Estate. It is visited both by tourist, students and locals. We often go whenever in Stellenbosch, South Africa. We went as a couple around noon as we wanted to have lunch there. We immediately found parking as the crowd thins at that hour. There are many different stalls with jewellery, prepared... More

It was too crowded at 11am to really enjoy it. Quite a few of the vendors were already sold out by then and we were unable to procure anything we had come specifically to purchase. I suspect if you are there to shop, you should show up the second it opens and get what you want and get out before... More

This is a beautiful outdoor market where you can buy your food and wine and eat it under the beautiful trees. There is a variety of stalls for you to browse and buy quality products at very good prices. This is a perfect place to spend your Saturday morning!

This always used to be my favourite market but have been there once a month for the last 3 months and have been so disappointed. All the good stalls of food are no longer there and the sellars inside the hall have also become less and less. The lovely german sausages, savage and the dutch people with there food stall... More

Yup - this is the one. If you're looking for something to do and somewhere to eat between 09:00 and 14:00 on a Saturday, then look no further.

The wife and I visited here on Saturday morning as we have done on numerous occasions. We just noted that the number of food stalls were fewer than normal. Not much choice for breakfast options. A great market to visit anyway.

A good way to start your Saturday. The Slow Market is open from 09:00 - 14:00 (Saturdays only) and there is ample parking. You can have breakfast and/or lunch there, anything from specialty samosas (crayfish, prawn and avo, salmon and feta cheese, found at the entrance to the hall) to shawarmas, paella, braai (BBQ), etc. and to drink anything from... Recently discovered with a help of a dear friend this market is my favourite now. Compare to the other markets I would justify the name, it is "slow": you have time and space to walk around and enjoy yourself. You also will find a place to seat and have your meal, talking of which I always go for the Tunisian... More
