A stroll up Dorp Street is a must when visiting Stellenbosch. The "village road" is lined with beautiful old oak trees and home to a number of excellent restaurants in heritage historical buildings, one or two legendary "drinking holes" and the quaint Oom Samie the winkel.

Restaurants and Oom Samies Winkel. A must visit. Clean and Beautiful. There is also the Protea Hotel where you can stay and then walk Dorp Street.

Dorp Street is lined with Oak trees and historical buildings. We took a walking tour which included loads of interesting facts on the Street and its architecture. There are lots of pubs and restaurants all around Stellenbosch with photos of the street through the ages. Several buildings including the Eendracht Hotel can easily be seen in these pictures.

Very nice restaurants - I went to tiger's milk and the big easy. Both delicious - the big easy is on the expensive range for a backpacker though. With the roundabouts, it's easy to get lost in this city!

A quiet street in Stellenbosch with some nice buildings but not enough to justify a visit. If you are around do walk in Dorp street

Dorp Street is perfect for foodies and shopping enthusiasts. Parking is a bit of a hassle and like everywhere in the Western Cape you have to pay when you park. If you are looking for a leisurely outing head on over to Stellenbosch. Dorp Street is definitely worth a visit.
