Wanted a nice and environmentally friendly way to get to and around Olhao so thought we'd rent a couple of bikes.

All went well, albeit a bit too expensive in our opinion (£150 for 2 city bikes for 6 days) until actually trying to ride the bikes. One of the chairs kept sliding down and side to side being a huge safety risk and both of them could not support going uphill without the chain continuously jumping from one disk to another which again was a huge safety risk.

Ended up upset, frustrated and pushing the bikes for most of our trip back from the city. Called owner you came to pick them up. He still charged us for one day even though the bikes were realistically unusable and he was kind enough to tell us that we were confused about how the bikes should be used (for reference me and my partner are two active people in their 30s).

He insisted that those bikes should only be used on asphalt which we did exactly. Aside from this he initially was nice enough to drop the bikes at the place we were staying and gave us some pointers about where to get the ferry to some of the beautiful islands and beaches on the Atlantic in our area.

Somehow it didn't occur to him that the bikes were not fit for our needs when he delivered them. Doubt the bikes have been serviced at all in a long time making them a danger to ride. Should be able to ride a city bike on the asphalt on a gentle slope.

Excellent tour and guide

Absolutely brilliant tour with Dario. My friend and I joined the 2.5km cycle through the Ria Formosa. He paced it really well with plenty of stops to get a drink and a breather and added heaps of his personal knowledge to create something we would never have done independently. I loved getting to know the story of the Poet and seeing the incredible house. The natural park was beautiful. Highly recommend - a must in Olhao!

Excellent service - bike rental

Rented a bike from the team for our weeks stay in Portugal. Dario was a real gent and delivered the bike to our location, suggested routes and offered plenty of advice. The bike was first class! Highly recommended and a great service, thankyou!

A wonderful way to explore the shoreline and nature reserve around Olhao

Wonderful morning tour with Dario to the nature reserve outside of Olhao. He is very knowledgeable and shares lots of information along the way. The visit to the Poet's house and the wonderful scenery along the Rio Formosa shores made it a spectacular visit.
Bikes were in good shape- would definitely recommend

Bike hire for cycle to Tavira and Cascata do Pego do Inferno

Seahorse are the best bike hire I have ever used. The service was absolutely outstanding. Dario went above and beyond to ensure we got the best bikes for our needs and went out of his way to make sure the route we had in mind went as smoothly and was as fun as possible. The bikes are great and very well maintained and the service is legendary. Connot recommend this company enough.

Very communicative and friendly staff with helpful explanation regarding route. Also a personal touch and really interested in our plans as well as us as a person. Highly appreciated and experienced as a warm welcome in the area.

Olhao bike rental

I rented a bike for the day to tour around Olhao. Dario was very helpful and marked a route out to see the salt pans and the Nature Park.

Cycling is easy enough around the town as its flat and there are plenty of paths as well.

I went to the salt pans first but I had a major problem with the chain and gears as I was heading off. A call to Dario and he was out as quickly as possible with a replacement Nike and some cleaner for my hands. So happy to help me and apologetic for the problem although not his fault. Then I was on my way.

Tours are available at certain times which I'm sure are very interesting

Bike Tour Was Very Enjoyable!

My wife, 18 year old son and I really enjoyed the Rio Formosa Bike Tour! It was great to see Olhao and the Rio Formosa Nature Park from the perspective of a local. Our guide had many great stories to tell and was very entertaining. I felt like I got to experience the "real" Olhao. The biking was easy and fun, and the bikes themselves were in excellent condition. The tour was a great experience and our highlight in Olhao!

Great customer services and reliable bikes in good condition.

We had a wonderful stay in Olhao and hired bikes from Seahorse for a day. Such a welcoming, friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable business couple who helped us plan our day’s route. we were running a little late to get the bikes back on time but they stayed open especially for us saying they just wanted us to enjoy our day. Would highly recommend bike hire from Seahorse, we will be going back next time!

Much more than a bike rental.. this is someone with passion who goes far beyond expectations to provide excellent bicycles, expertise advice, accurate directions including photos of milestones along the route to reach ria formosa, friendly and patient..true gentleman. Thanks for all your help in creating the perfect day trip and also for sending the flamingo photos .. much better than mine! Thanks again.. we will be back.
