Nice, not to big museum in the heart of old town. Covering all periods from prehistoric times to recent. A nice venue for occasional concerts in the museum and in the garden.

A small museum with paintings and sculptures mainly from the 12th to 14th century, very nicely arranged in the 5 halls of the building. Some are beautiful representations of the years when Koper was an important political Centre of the region. Worthwhile visit!

No expectations going in - quite enjoyable experience! Doesn't hold any major highlights, though I liked the overall layout - including the courtyard! I'd suggest visiting in the heat of the day - a nice escape from the heat!

In my experience small local/ regional museums offer some of the best ways to learn about the place you are visiting, and this was no exception. Whilst it does not have a huge collection of exhibits, there was plenty to 'chew on' as you progressed...More

A lovely local museum offering regional history in chronological galleries, I felt spoilt for being the only visitor at the time (pre-season, in May) and was drawn in to successive discoveries as I wandered through the carefully-arranged spaces. There is plenty here for fans of...More

A gem of a regional museum. It contains exhibits from pre-Roman times through to recent decades. The 1920s through 1960s exhibits were emotionally powerful and draining...so much human suffering and genocide. The local peoples resilience to continuing adversity is astonishing. The exhibits are factual and...More
