About
This lagoon on Turkiye’s Southern Coast is best known for its serene vibes, silky sands, and perfectly blue waters. The shallow waters are great for families, and there are sun loungers for rent for a relaxing day under the sun. Plus beach bars and restaurants that serve up cocktails and delicious Turkish fare.
The best way to see the Blue Lagoon has to be on a sunset paragliding adventure that launches from the craggy Babadag mountain nearby, for awesome aerial views of the lagoon and surrounding coves. You can also go on a boat tour and explore Butterfly Valley, Gemiler Island, and other hidden beaches and coves.

- LovingTheSun2011Belfast, United Kingdom27 contributionsMixed VibesBeautiful place in an excellent location 15-minute walk from Ouldenz strip. There's a bus stop 10-minute walk from the lagoon bringing people in from neighbouring towns. Golf trolleys travel up and down from the bus stop for a small fee for anyone who has mobility issues or doesn't fancy walking in the heat. There's a couple of restraunt bars that serve food and drink however you do need to load a pre pay card to pay for this and also sun loungers (kiosks dotted all over to get the cards). A pair of sunloungers and umbrella work out about £10 for the day comfortable enough but not the cleanest. First impressions not what the pictures show stoney beach not sand and so busy '(cattle market springs to mind ). Nevertheless, it's still very beautiful and worth the visit crystal clear waters against the backdrop of lush green mountains. ADVICE ...... take rock shoes 👍Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 July 2023
- Angela MRoyton, United Kingdom12 contributionsBlue Lagoon being spoiledVisited the Lagoon many times in the past . Was very surprised to fine the Lagoon had become so over crowded with cars and people . It is no longer a quite place to visit. To many cars and many hotels have took over parts of the beaches as their own. It was Mayhem recently you cannot enjoy the serenity anymore . Such a pity the lagoon is a money trap and being spoiled.Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 14 August 2023
- explorer134424 contributionsThe Green LagoonMore a green lagoon than a blue lagoon. Sun beds crammed in up to walkways. 10 lira to go to the toilet, and a total tourist trap milking people. Go down to the beach to the right at the fork where the blue lagoon starts (parallel to the mountain) and it’s free sun loungers in some places, and much cheaper food and less crowded. The blue lagoon has a system as of writing where they give you a plastic credit card type points card, and you can top up with credit card or cash. Tip: If you top up with cash, you can get your money back at the end for any left on it. If you do it with a credit card you are unable to get any remaining balance back.Visited August 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 August 2023
- Travel JoUnited Kingdom6 contributionsEnjoyable visit to the Blue LagoonLovely visit to this place on holiday. Need to use a top up cash card for a lot of things, such as sun beds, which is easy enough. You don’t have to pay for a sun bed though if you’re happy to just sit on your towel. We used our own bank cards to hire paddle boards which were a reasonable price. Water lovely and warm and calm. Would visit again for sure.Visited September 2023Travelled with familyWritten 3 October 2023
- Claire PMusselburgh, United Kingdom13 contributionsRelaxing few hoursSpent a relaxing few hours at the Blue lagoon, it was nice & clean with a plant pot for rubbish at each pair of sunbeds. We were able to easily find a set of sunbeds with a parasol easily despite the area being extremely busy. A nice swim in the water too. Showers & toilet areas were plentiful with changing cubicles available.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 October 2023
- Tourist123603172652 contributionsNice morning walk.It was the end of the season when we walked 'round the Blue Lagoon so many business' were closed. We stopped off at one restaurant for a coffee but the machine was out of action and we were only able to get a little cup of 'Turkish coffee', not to every ones taste ! It was a pleasant walk but nothing to shout about.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 23 October 2023

Good points first. Water is very shallow and you can walk a long way out. This is amazing for children. We arrived early so managed to get a sun bed at the front. Our waiter was fantastic. Very efficient, brought drinks and food quickly and so friendly. We hired a pedalo which was great fun. The water is deeper out in the middle and lovely for swimming. It was clear and a gorgeous blue.
Bad points. When you arrive and first see it, it looks like a lake. The water isn’t blue. More of a murky green. And the worst part is myself, my partner and my child all got swimmers itch. Please take time to read what this is if you don’t know because it may prevent you getting in the water. We are all covered in a red very itchy bumpy rash that appeared the next morning. We will not be going back in the water!!!!

The beach is perfect and the water clean.
I would like to mention in this review that unfortunately the General Manager in charge of operating the concession area on the beach (stretchers and sun umbrellas) is a person with no education whatsoever and does not appear to have the skills to fulfil this responsibility. A person who treats people differently: I was almost forced to pay when I was still putting down my bag and towels and threatened with calling the police (what???)... The day before, everyone in the area observed a good-looking woman with two children who hadn't paid and had the use of a sun umbrella and two stretchers from 10.00 - 17.00...
When I confronted him with the situation, he said he didn't know anything about it and wasn't responsible for it, so... who should take action?

The Green Lagoon. I read the reviews, I still went, I shouldn't have bothered but I did get a nice fridge magnet. This part of turkey is a beautiful place but this tiny part is less beautiful than its surroundings. Massively crowded and expensive pebble beach, the card/ money system is annoying, cigarette butts everywhere, walkways unmaintained. You'll still have fun here, it's a day at the beach after all, but what I don't get is that there is a far superior beach with far blue'er water about 10 minutes walk to the east which is uncrowded and there is no card/ money system.

Hi, no there are not. The water in here is still since it is in a close space away from the open sea.

Hi it’s 7 tl each to get in. The car park is about 5 mins walk. If you park up for the day and pay 25tl we didn’t pay extra to get into the lagoon as the car park joins on to it.

I liked the one on the very far tip of the peninsula/lagoon. They speak English and served well with moderate prices.
Are there any locker facilities? How do you keep your personal items safe when in the sea?

You can hire a locker/safe from the cafes by the washrooms.
