About
The cable car at Babadag stops at two levels, the first of which has an open-air concert theater, a playground, and viewing platforms. The second level boasts a restaurant with incredible panoramic views, and you can take a chairlift from there and hike the steep path to the summit. Bring a jacket with you, as the temperature drops considerably the higher you go, and get there early for fewer crowds. Babadag is popular with thrill-seeking paragliders from April to November—make a lunch reservation at the restaurant for a delicious meal with a front-row seat of the action. – Tripadvisor

- LouiseLeeds, United Kingdom25 contributions60th. Birthday in olu denizWhat a brilliant experience going to the top of Mt. Babadag in the cable car breath taking views. The sunset was beautiful & had great fun watching the paraglider’s so much so that we (Phil my husband & I). Booked to jump into my 60th. Year with a bang or so be it the last of my 59th year. Thankyou so much to the great company Liberty who arranged for me to have my birthday cake mid flight & also all the birthday songs& wishes that were heard through the transceivers.Visited September 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 17 October 2023
- Karen M33 contributionsFantastic TripThoroughly enjoyed our trip up the mountain on the cable car. It’s so easy to do yourself don’t waste money on an organised tour! We took the dolmus bus for around 50p and then paid for the cable car trip around £8 each! Tour operator wanted to charge £40 for the trip! Beautiful views from all stages and the cable cars were clean, stable and very quiet. Fantastic watching the paragliders taking off and just beautiful views to be had.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 October 2023
- JayneH354Witham, United Kingdom30 contributionsAmazing sunsetWe went up at 4pm to catch sunset. Only £10 per person and dolmus stops outside. Be careful if travelling down hill as stop is on opposite side of a very busy road so crossing can be a problem. Ride up was smooth and cable car spotless, amazing views. Sat and had drinks next to take off ramps at 2nd restaurant and it was wonderful watching them all take off. We were above the clouds and even though we couldn’t see the view the clouds at sunset were truly beautiful. A great way to spend a few hours.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 22 October 2023
- HayleyGlasgow, United Kingdom111 contributionsNice evening outVisited here in June 2024 with 3 children under 13 years of age. We managed to get to 1700 metres (I think I read on the website that 1700 metres opens from 1st June that may be why other travellers have only got to 1200 metres?) The cable car ride up the mountain was smooth and comfortable. If you look on the mountains you will see some goats! The views are incredible and at 1700m you can watch the paragliders take off which is really cool! There are some binoculars to look through but you need a 1 lira coin to put in it which we didn’t have unfortunately. There is a restaurant, souvenir shop, ice cream stop and a small selection of cakes/pastries at 1700m station. Also a glass bridge with a pond and koi carp fish.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 June 2024
- LeahUnited Kingdom143 contributionsCable cars are great. Food and drinks are expensive.Visited with my family in May. The cable cars were great and the views were lovely. It was the end of May so it wasn't busy so were lucky enough to have the cable car to ourselves on the way up and down which made it even more enjoyable. Lovely day out. In May only 1200 the first stop was open and that was good enough but I would like to go to the top next time. The only thing that let them down a little was the rude staff and the restaurant. Yes, there are great views but the prices are a joke. The cheese pide tastes no different than a cheap local one. £10 for a cocktail that was half full with a massive sharp chip on the rim of the glass, pushy staff trying to get you to order more drinks. But we had a great day loved the cable cars and recommend them for a day trip.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 5 June 2024
- Ryn81Daventry, United Kingdom158 contributionsDefinitely worth a tripAmazing views, reasonable charge and a good experience. The restaurant/bar at 1700 is very good. The cable cars are very warm and stuffy though, dread to think how hot they get in the summer months. Take a fan!!Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 June 2024
- Emma PNewcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom52 contributionsSpectacular viewsThis is a fantastic place to visit, we ended up going up twice as really enjoyed it. One of our family members was afraid of heights but did this trip and was surprised how well he managed. We were so pleased as this is a great trip to experience with spectacular views and especially being able to watch the paraglider’s take off. Once at the top 1700 theres a lovely restaurant and the food is delicious and reasonable.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 12 June 2024
- Ryan RSwansea, United Kingdom27 contributionsWorth doing if you are in OludenizCosts 450 lira per person which is about £11 per adult (teens are classed as adults). Took us a couple of hours between getting off and on, taking the views and watching the paragliders take off. The chairlifts are safe enough but you do hover over the mountain which isn't for the faint hearted! Hell of a view though when you get to the top. We didn't get any food or drink on the mountain so can't comment on the prices. And we had no need for jumpers on the summit - as it is summer it's pleasant up there (say low twenties warm).Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 29 July 2024
- BangkokramBelper, United Kingdom351 contributionsMust while in the area.An amazing experience. Very easy to buy tickets at the bottom. The cable cars were very sturdy and safety is paramount. The views are stunning, looking over Fethiye, Olu Deniz and Hisoranui. The chairlift from 1700-1800m is different and worth the effort. 8 would have liked to have gone up to 1900 but that chairlift wasn’t in operation. I can’t recommend this experience enough.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 31 August 2024

This is a must one evening if you are staying here. It is a great experience from start to finish.
We booked a table for 6pm and watched the sunset from our table.
Make sure you take warm clothes as, once the sun sets, it gets very chilly. Our party had hoodies on and blankets over us!
We arrived a little earlier and wandered around as there is a lovely view from the cable car station. We then walked across the bridge to the restaurant.
The whole area is very new and not has been developed so well. It is very pretty and there are lots of great photo opportunites.
There is a photographer who takes professional photos and i would recommend him as the photos were cheap and he puts them straight on your phone so you can share them with your party. He took some lovely photos.
The food was amazing and very very reasonable. The cocktails were the best we have had since staying here, in particular, the Porn Star Martini and Bellini.
If you like desserts the chocolate soufflé is absolutely amazing.
The staff were very friendly and attentive.
A wonderful evening and some great memories made.

The minibus was £15 each. There were 6 of us so a grand total of £90 for the half hour trip up the mountain. Quite excessive. The meals were ok if a little pricey. Service a little slow. But the view...The sunset was absolutely magical. An added bonus was the restaurant is next to the launching pad for the paragliders. Warning...when the sun goes the temperature plummets. It was 36 deg the day we went up so we were clad in shorts and sliders. The blankets came out right after the sun went down. It was mid September and there was quite a breeze up in the mountains (none by the pool I might add). An unforgettable experience despite the cold.

We tried the Babadag hike starting at 6am to avoid strong sun. We tried to go with green dot trail starting from stairs on the way from Oludeniz to Liberty Lykia. We lost the trail almost immadietly so we literally climbed through thorny bushes using only GPS. After 1h we finally found the trail but we decided to stop when we saw it goes through the almost vertical stone wall with only small ridge to step on right above the cliff. I'm experienced in hiking but this one was too dangerous and it was actually first time ever I decided to turn around and come back because of the difficulty. We couldn't find any other way. You can see that wall passage on one of photos and also there's a view from Oludeniz but to be honest on the photo it doesn't seem so scary.
In our way back we managed to go with green dot trail all the way down to the stairs. We've been stopping often, looking around and even coming back few metres to be sure we follow the dots. In the end we just went by bus with one of the paragliding company as they say there's no regular bus to Babadag now. We spend there some time, had lunch in restaurant (really good beef sandwich) and luckily came back with Escape paragliding company bus straight to Liberty Lykia hotel. It was so nice they took us with them although they had full bus already.
I think that trail for Babadag should be a lot easier if we would start for example from Montana Pine Resort and avoid this lawest part of mountain. And there is probably other trail from Oludeniz area but we didn't find it :-/ I think I don't recommend this green dot trail but if someone would like to go, please be prepared for actual climb using your hands, trekking shoes are essential and please wear long trousers because of thorn bush and also watch out the wasps. And never ever try to make any shortcut in this rocky walls area, it's extremely dangerous.
Oh, I almost forgot - we met some mountain goats :)
It was quite an adventurous day!

Unfortunately we we were very disappointed with our trip on the cable car. A lack of information from the staff at the front desk left us feeling disappointed and misled. We expected to pay 80 lira each as the reviews said but instead we were charged 150 lira each. We were told the lifts only went every hour - fine. We expected there to be a nice viewing area so took a packed lunch to enjoy at the top but what we weren’t told was that viewing area was shut and we would only be taken to the restaurant and not fully to the top (this area is closed in winter but we were not told this when we paid for our tickets). When we got off the lift we were told to go directly to the restaurant, every where else was shut off we weren’t allowed at the paragliding area (understandable) but the one viewing point that was open was taken over by building works. We went off to the restaurant and sat down outside. We discovered a leak in our bag from one of our drinks so my partner got all our food out and everything else from the bag to try and dry it out. At which point a member of staff came over from the restaurant and asked us if we were eating the food here. My partner said yes but we also planned to buy a drink and we were only going to eat it there as everywhere else was shut and we weren’t told about this and had an hour to wait before our the next lift back down. The member of staff was passive aggressive and rude and essentially kicked us out of the restaurant (even though we were outside). If we were told the relevant information we wouldn’t have taken a packed lunch up with us and would have eaten before but at this point we were hungry and fed-up. We ended up having to stand around the cable car entry point for 40 minutes to wait for the next lift down as there was nowhere else for us to go and no seating area. I hope this information prevents you from having the same experience as us. The views on the way up and down were amazing and I’m sure the food and drink at the restaurant would be good but maybe a little expensive. I would suggest checking with the staff at the booking desk at what is open before booking your ticket as like I said they did not provide us with the relevant information and this is what was so frustrating. In regards to the member of staff at the restaurant my partner was frustrated and hungry when you came to speak to us and admitted he could have handled it better but you made us feel very unwelcome and as a paid hospitality member of staff you could have diffused the situation rather than leave us feeling the way we did. You didn’t want to speak to me and only listened to my partner whereas I was going to ask if it would be ok for us to sit there and eat our sandwiches if we ordered a drink. You didn’t give me a chance to explain the situation and wanted us out of there straight away. The restaurant was very quiet at the time and I assume you would have benefitted from us buying a drink and maybe a piece of cake too but you lost that opportunity by making us feel so unwelcome. All in all this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience.

Great views.
The cable car is only a year old and it still feels like new. It was very straight forward getting through the security at the bottom and not much of a queue to get on. As there was only 2 of us we were put in a car with another family which wasn't too bad. Due to this we were not facing the direction of travel however the views were still amazing as we headed up. It easily took around 10 minutes to arrive at the first station but unfortunately we were not able to get off due to an event happening. We were not told this in advance and only became aware when someone on the platform shouted towards the car that we couldn't get off, it was closed. Slightly disappointed that we weren't told prior to this and therefore didn't get the full multi level experience.
Due to not getting off we continued up the mountain for another 5/10 minutes before arriving at 1700. The area around was lovely and the view of the paragliders flying by was lovely. It wasn't overly busy and there was plenty of space to walk around.
We unfortunately weren't able to get a booking at the 1700 bar and grill at short notice however we still wanted to go up for the view at sunset.
We decided to go on the chair lift up to the next viewing point (after my partner taking some persuading). These are what you would expect at a ski resort. A lot of fun to go up in, just make sure to hold on to hats etc as it can get very windy. Once we got to 1800 the view was spectacular.
It is a shame that the burger place at 1800 and chair lift to 1900 and the taco place are not opened yet, however once they do I'm sure they will be very popular.
We tried to time our decent to coincide with the sunset and we managed pretty well. Although the colours of the sunset can obviously be seen from down below, it feels a little bit special being up do high and being able to see everything around us.
As long as you are not afraid of heights this is a must do when in the area.

We went as a party of six, arived at arounnd 5pm giving us ample time to wander around taking photographs of the fantastic views, before siting down foe a relaxing drink before dinner watching the paragliders taking off.
Food and wine were superb, with a good sellection for more or less what you would pay in any resteraunt in the area.
Service was friendly and attentive and the sunset spectacular. Well recomended!
Note: when the sun starts to set the temperature drops rapidly and it can get very cold, you need to dress warmly...

It was wonderful to go there . You can ascend by cable car or go up in a van driven by paragliding teams. The Tandem Paragliding offered by REACTION PARAGLIDING is five star. Pasha is the guy who helps you decide. No pressure. No lies . Just information and friendliness. All our family asked for the same pilot - Tuncay due to his reputation and skill . All their pilots are very highly trained. There is no ‘jumping off a cliff’. You jog a few steps down. Slope and then lift gently ( honestly!) into the air . It wasn’t rough swishing around but gentle gliding more like floating in a comfy armchair. I was scared about the landing but it felt like a feather landing. After being terrified , I fully relaxed after about ten seconds. These pilots are trained to the highest level, have competed in big competitions and have many years experience. They take photos and videos of you in the air which you can buy for twenty pounds if you like them. I can’t imagine anyone saying no. The pics are spectacular. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

This was a fantastic experience, amazing views, we took loads of great photos. It was great value for money, we had lunch in the restaurant at the top of the chair lift which was very nice & reasonably priced. It was brilliant being able to watch all the Paragliders jumping off the mountain. We would do this again to watch the sunset and would recommend this to anyone coming to this area.

Fantastic, such a great experience A 20 minute Cable Car to the second level then the option of travelling even higher via chair left "Ski Lift". Great Restaurants Bars and very helpful Staff. And all for about £7.50 each We spent 4 hours up there watching the Para Gliders throw themselves of the launch platforms at various levels while we had an excellent lunch NOT TO BE MISSED

When reaching the top of Babadag you get a privileged view of people starting paragliding. There is a lovely restaurant where you can enjoy a lovely meal on the terrace and enjoy the panoramic view of Fethiye. You also get a lovely ride in the forests before reaching the top of Babadag. Temperature is cooler than the scorching hot Fethiye which made it very pleasant.

Hi! Does someone know is it a good trail for hiking from Olydeniz to Babadağ? And is it possible to try paragliding from the top, without booking from agency??
Written 25 April 2024
Sorry, I don't know. You could try contacting them directly? I can't see why not on first part of journey, but to go higher than th restaurant, they are 'open' ski lift type cable cars so imagine that would be too dangerous.

I may be mistaken but I'm sure I had seen places taking customers over the 100kg mark in the past.
Thank you
