Norma is so very welcoming, and clearly passionate about what does. The class was informal, yet informative, and the food was outstanding. Best empanadas ever! We were thrilled with the whole experience, and loved getting to know more about Norma and her passion for cooking. I particularly enjoyed my first experience of mate, learning about the ritual in a comfortable... More

Norma's apartment is beautiful and she is the best of hostesses! We took the cooking class with five other (international) travelers and together cooked some of the tastiest treats (empanadas and alfajores) we had in our travels. Norma is a wonderful teacher and the process is not in the least intimidating. We shared the results of our efforts - Norma... More

Some family members and I took a private cooking class with Norma. Everything worked out great and we had a fantastic time learning to cook a variety of dishes. I was travelling with a large group and Norma was really flexible with me in trying to find a scheduling option. She was also accommodating in switching the menu slightly when... More

We had a great time attending this cooking class with Norma. She was a delight and it was a great opportunity to learn a little bit more about Argentine cooking. If you're into something experiential and low key, this is a great class to take. We were able to meet in her home, meet some great people, learn a bit... More

We were sweltering in the Buenos Aires heat and searching for a daytime activity that would expose us to Argentinian culture without all the sweat. We were fortunate to stumble upon Norma's classes here on TripAdvisor, and we are SO glad we did this! The other reviews are accurate - the class was very fun, we got to eat great... More

Two years later, I'm still raving about the cooking class to folks that are interested in visiting Buenos Aires. Norma is an amazing cooking instructor--she has a whole system and makes the food prep super easy. Norma should write a book about her life experiences! You'll have an engaging few hours and a delicious, traditional, home-cooked meal.

We took a cooking class with Norma yesterday, there were just two couples and our instructor, who is lovely. She is quite prepared, copies of all her recipes were on the table we sat at in her dining room when Class began. After introductions, she led us into the kitchen and showed us how to make empanadas and dulce de... More

We had a very amusing time with norma - we learned about empanadas and other yum stuff! We met an interesting couple and I loved the phrase that "people who come on cooking courses are travellers - others are tourists" that seems to me to be true!!

Norma's Argentinian cooking class provides you with the essential techniques for essential Argentinian cooking. I emailed Norma two days before I wanted to take her class (our time was limited in Buenos Aires) and she responded almost immediately with details and her willingness to arrange the class assuming that she could reschedule some of her previous commitments. And she did!... More

Staying in Palermo

Neighbourhood Profile
Palermo
Best known as the largest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo is divided into different quarters, each with its own unique identity. The high-end quarter is Palermo Chico, characterized by magnificent mansions, regal avenues, and exclusive apartment buildings, and home to the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires (MALBA), a favourite amongst locals. The largest park in the city, the Bosques de Palermo, is Palermo's most famous landmark and a popular destination for nature walks, picnics, rollerblading, and cycling. The scene becomes much trendier in Palermo Soho, a hip area known for its cool cafés and unique design stores, filled with shoppers on weekends; and Palermo Hollywood, renowned for the numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs, which make it the preferred spot for nights out and special occasions.
