Top ways to experience Microcentro and nearby attractions

The area
Neighbourhood: San Nicolás
Immersed in the sound of honking horns and the footsteps of busy office workers, the Microcentro area of San Nicolás is where visitors will encounter the true hustle and bustle of Buenos Aires, walking down streets lined with office buildings and banks. The financial district is well-known for its vibrant atmosphere and unstoppable rhythm during office hours. After dark, the hubbub and migrates to Corrientes Ave., where theatre lovers might start their evening at a play and end it in one of the many traditional pizzerias nearby. During the day, Corrientes is known for its many bookshops and classic cafés, which are located just minutes away from some famous landmarks, like the Obelisco, Avenida 9 de Julio, and the Teatro Colon.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

this is a crazy part of the city. Tons of offices, thousands of workers and much more people. On weekends it almost empty, ghostly empty.

It is an informal area that includes several nice spots, from Plaza de Mayo to the "City", the financial district, and includes part of Calle Corrientes and Reconquista, that offer interest buildings and several bars and restaurants.

The central area is a nice place especially for observing the architectural style. The centre is also clean, thinking that it is a capital.

So much to see and do in this part of the amazing city of BA! We spent half a day just wandering around here, no real agenda, we just wanted to see where each street would take us. The architecture is stunning, and there was so much to see and just appreciate. Easily 1 of my most favourite cities in the world.

If you want to experience the hustle and bustle of a truly vibrant city (at least during the weekdays) visit the microcentro area of B.A. As many of the major tourist attractions are located in/near this area, there is plenty to see and do. Exciting area of B.A. that is also very safe (if you are sensibly cautious to pick-pockets). I spent a great deal of time in this part of town and enjoyed every minute thoroughly.

This is a nice area in the city centre. Lots of cafes and restaurants around. The area looked a bit unsafe for tourists.

Sort of like walking in downtown New York City with suits everywhere scurrying around to and from work. But it also is site of some interesting museums, the Florida walking/shopping street, the Casa Rosada, Plaza de Mayo and much more. A great way to start our 5 days in Buenos Aires

The Microcentro area has almost everything you'll need. From restaurants and coffee shops, to banks, money changers and travel agents.

It also has some cool churches and other interesting pieces of architecture in it.

Literally, this is the center of Buenos Aires, which means there are a lot of street vendors, thieves and wastes. Something must be done to clear all the messes.
