Well worth a visit, and while in the area, visit the museum housing things owned or used by previous Argentinian presidents. I enjoyed the historical walk.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 13 December 2023

- SnowyShastaPortland, Oregon2,349 contributionsIconic building on the Plaza de MayoThe Casa Rosada is the presidential/government official building, right on the Plaza de Mayo amidst other historic buildings. It is a unique shade of pink, and has the famous balconies where Eva Peron gave her speech (or sang, in the film version) so it's pretty well known. We didn't go inside (I'm not sure whether tours were available when we visited) but it was nice to see the exterior, and see the historic and iconic building that we'd heard so much about.Visited January 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 April 2024

This visit was a true experience to gain insight into Argentinian history as well as to see the Office of the President. The tour was well conducted and each of the rooms in the building explained. You must book in advance exactly 15 days prior, and tours are only available on Saturdays. Standing on the balcony where Eva Peron addressed the people is truly memorable.

On the eastern side of Plaza de Mayo. Famous for colour. Eva Peron addressed supporters from the balcony. It is now the Argentine president's office. Free 1 hour guided tours on weekends but have to book online and bring ID.

Built between 1862 and 1885. Casa Rosada (Pink House) is the Argentine Presidential Palace. No longer used as a residence (the Presidential Residence is located in the suburb of Olivos), the Pink House houses the presidential offices and ceremonial rooms. Evita Peron addressed the crowds from the balcony. Ox blood was mixed with white wash to ceate the distinctive pink color. Tours of the interior must be arranged in advance online. There is a Casa Rosada Museum behind the building which is open to the public.

The built has its significant role as they President's location. It overlooks the Great Plaza de Mayo and it's location for the Major Demonstrations of this country. If you have seen the movie Evita starring Madonna then it is from the Balcony overlooking the Square she sang the Don't Cry For Me Argentina . A beautiful Plaza n a Sad plaza with much history enfolded therein.

We visit it a lot of times, but our first visit was at the 5.1.2020.
Looks amazing but was a shame that we couldn't enter and have a tour inside it...
By the way you should visit it at night and see the beautiful pink colour that is different from the morning.
Don't forget to go around and see it from behind, you will see an amzing statue abive the ceilling of the pink house.

It flourished in Macros short term as well as the city with an Instagram account and hidroponics garden for their consumption. It will probably fell in decay per the socialist regime once again. Not worth visiting

It’s unclear to me if Casa Rosada is permanently closed to the public or under construction. I’m guessing closed. In Nov, 2019, there was fencing all around and construction at the building. Apparently the museum ( history of Argentina’s government) is in a new museum behind Casa Rosada. And that’s worth a quick visit.Better if you read Spanish. It’s too bad that Casa Rosada is closed, at least for now.

It’s possible to visit and well worth your while. We had a private tour arranged by friends and it was conducted by one of the palace staff. We even got lucky as when we were leaving we were held up as the President was arriving by helicopter and we saw him land and walk in. If you tour don’t miss the Evita suite of rooms. There is a balcony that was used in the film Evita for Madonas famous speech and song to the people. Historically the real Evita gave the speech from the balcony of another building (the white one) across the plaza from the Casa Rosada.

Written 22 May 2023
Vinicius, estou na mesma situação que você. Pelo que pesquisei, parece que desde a pandemia a Casa parou de receber visitações, mas não consegui confirmar essa info em nenhum canal oficial...

I am seeing it is hard to book online for the tours, can you just turn up for a tour or can you wander around yourself?
Written 21 October 2019
They use to let you just walk up and sign up for a tour. What I have seen with my current visit that you have to buy tickets in advance. It is an escorted tour as it is an active Presidential Palace.

Hello, About how long was your Saturday tour of Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires? I have a few months before I go, and I wanted to plan out my itinerary, but I needed to know roughly how long the tour was. Many Thanks.

Thanks

You can take pictures. No flash. The only area where photos are not allowed is when you walk through the Vice-President’s office as well as the President’s section.
