This is a must do if you visit the area. I cannot think of a better, more enjoyable way to experience Sierra de la Ventana. The horses are superb and very reliable, the saddles are great, the guides are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Essentially a family business, Gerardo Delgado runs a very tight ship, a very efficient operation. Horses are extremelly well maintained, saddles are tight, you feel very safe and in good hands...and off you go! to ride across a breathtaking landscape of serenity, mystery and beauty. One of the horses name is Darwin, and Don Delgado will tell you how is it related to Charles Darwin, who visited the region and described it in his Voyage on the Beagle.

We did the 4 hours ride through a beautiful and amazing landscape and it was awesome! it was just me, my friends and the guide, so we were all alone in the nature. we were completely free to ride however we wanted. after a while we went to a cave with old paintings and had a break with some food and mate. all the people working at the ranch were very nice and trustworthy. it was an amazing experience, a perfect way to get to know the beautiful landscape and spend some time with a real gaucho. i can definetly recomend it to everyone!

I signed up for the four hour ride and paid $110. US for it. We rode to the back of one of the Sierras where we got off the horses and walked up the hill aways to a small cave where there were a couple of old cave paintings and we stayed there for over 45 minutes while the two guides drank mate and passed the cup around. We rode back to the ranch and arrived by 1/2 hour early - when I asked about the time difference they said that because I was such a good rider the trip didn't take as long as usual!!! So I paid the money for a 2.5 hour ride instead of the 4 hour ride promised. The horse I had was great and the people were nice but this is not acceptable to be misled this way. I was very disappointed.
