The activity that I recommend is climbing the Cerro Uritorco which is in Cordoba province, specifically in Capilla del Monte.
It was an amazing experience!! The walk has to start in the morning, between 8 to 10 am, so it is really cold when you begin, especially if you do it in winter — which is advisable in my point of view because in summer it could be impossible with the heat. But you shouldn't give up. It’s just at the beginning, as you start to climb you feel hotter and start to take off your clothes. The walk is a bit intense, but it isn't impossible, you have to be patient, enjoy the walk, and with effort you will arrive at the top. Once you are there, the view is incredible!! You will breathe the purest air, and also you can take some time to do a meditation, the energy there is very strong. In addition, you could eat something to recover the energy to begin the return.
It is an activity I´d like to recommend to all my friends, because it is one of the most gratifying experiences I've ever done. You can do it with friends, alone, or with people you don't know. In all of the options you will definitely enjoy it.

The mountain is private property. They charge usd 5 per car and usd 16+ access fee (ARP 1500/5000 resp in Jan 23).
At the entrance they have you to sign an affidavit (that you understand whatever law number, health cert etc). As standard they use a 4 hs up and 3 hs down time. At “stop" no 5 guide may ask to show you the slip of paper when you filled out the affidavit. This to check if your progress is ok. Dont know what will happen if you are under their schedule....
No water to buy underway.
That was the but part.
The hike is light demanding 5.3 km long and from aprox 1100 to 1978 masl. We did it in 2h15 hs up and 2 h down. Beautiful views on the top.

It took me 3 hours to get up, and 2 hours to get down. It also takes 20 minutes to walk to the base from the town centre.

They tell you to take 2 litres of water. I took 3, and I needed to start rationing it on the way down. But I did it on a very hot day. (There's almost no shade.)

Wear proper hiking boots if you have them. Bring a hat, sunscreen and food.

It's pretty quiet. I only saw 6 other people.

The view from the top is pretty great (360 view)

Entry costs 250 pesos

There are several stories from this place that say that you can see UFOs and there is a certain energy coursing through the place. I didn't see anything, to say the least I was disappointing.
Nonetheless the trek through the vegetation was very interesting, I felt utterly invigorated, be it because of this mystical energy or the fact that I love nature and the prospect of trekking through the mountain to see aliens had me in a good mood, in any case, I kinda feel a little bit in love with the place.
The place is usually very visited, specially in the summer months, there are lots of artisans and people that goes to draw on this energy I mentioned, but don't be intimidated, they are harmless.

Everything advertises 4 hours up, 3 hours down. We are in our 60s and we did 3 up and 2.5 down. It's difficult to describe. A very well maintained trail, for the most part well signed, and the ever-changing vistas make every step worthwhile. A little crowded at the summit, but the view is spectacular. The trail passes through a stunning grassland meadow for about 15 minutes, and lots of birds.

The fee is expensive, 300 pesos. But the view is really cool, it's easy to climb, anyone can do it, if you are used to trekking you can reach the top fast.

This is a well worth hike. As usual the journey is just as good as reaching the top of the mountain. You won't be the only one hiking as it is a popular destination. For some, this may be fun to meet and chat with people along the way. The good thing is that it is clearly marked and you cannot get lost on this trail. Forget about the talk of UFO's. This is about some nice views and hidden little gems along the way.

This place is apparently known for its 'energies' and for UFO sightings ... we just climbed it for a nice hike though! Definitely worth it for the views and beautiful scenery alone, regardless of whether you're into the other stuff. We saw lots of large birds circling near the top, possibly condors but not sure if they were quite that size or not! Sadly the very top was in cloud the day we did it, but the views were lovely all the way up. Some cool rock formations too. The guideline times for the hike (4 hours up, 3 down) we found to be way out - we did the whole thing up and down, including a lunch break, in just over 4 hours! It is divided into 7 sections with signed rest points, and these too were weird with their times. The first 4 sections are meant to take half an hour each, according to the signs - we found they took us 10 mins each. The last 3 however had more realistic times, so don't assume you'll climb the whole thing in an hour!
The only reason I'm not giving it 5 is the ridiculous entry fee of 200 pesos. It's privately owned, apparently, and I guess they can charge whatever they like as people will always come here drawn by the UFO stories, tales of it being a magical place etc. It seems pretty crazy to us to have to pay this much just for a hike - and with the money they're raking in they should really maintain the place a whole lot better too!
Still, overall a very good way to spend a day.

Wonderful valleys, mountains and rare rock formations all the way are just to introduce the imponent Cerro Uritorco that at my first impression seems to be more alike to a volcano than a mountain or even a pyramid. This place and surroundings are full of mysticism, since the legends of the native Comechingones in Ongamira as the portal of the hidden intraterrenal city of Erks supported by Dr. Terrera's teachings and books to the ufo sighting actual reports. Downtown in the rustic Capilla del Monte you will find ovnis and aliens paintings or statues everywhere commercially orientes to alternate therapies from christals to organic food stores. Neighboors are convinced that they are based there due to him referring to the mountain as a living being and that many have tríes to stay too but the Uritorco had rejected them forcing their prompt departure. If you love nature and a peaceful place to rest without luxury or high tech expectations you will fall in love of this unique town with comfortable and affordable lodging. Make sure to have your own kitchen and supplies as these people will literally dissappear from 1-5pm and all stores, restaurants will be closed too. Perfect time to go to crowded places as La Toma and El Paraíso with river and its surroundings. Don't miss going to La Cumbre, Ongamira and Los Terrones as a must go attraction with awesome rock formations and landscape. I will definitely recommend it and will be back soon!
