'American ski', opposite the ski area (on the other side of the road) is a rental place you better avoid when renting ski material. People are really arrogant, let you wait for hours, messing with the contracts (so it seems material you just brought back is missing...). Renting our material the next two days in Uspallata was the perfect antidote.

If you are an experienced snow sports person or a first time user you can have a lot of fun in that place. Make sure you check snow condition before going because it doesn't have snow all the year.

Nice ski centre but small, probably best for beginners. Low prices for daily passes but not many options for eating. If you are starting with winter sports and don't want to spend a fortune to try it out, this would be a good option to start.

Not for the skilled folks but the roadtrip from Mendoza and it's amazing position near the border of Argentina and Chile makes it a really nice place to be. Expect a small resort.

When there is snow - and you like to ski where not a lot of people are, being sportive, then Penitentes is a hidden gem. For beginners too there bottom of the mountain is great too. Being at 3400 m, looking around you and being amidstd the Andes is a powerful experience. And the way up and down to Mendoza... More

The winter skiing season is over but this place is still worthy your attention. We stopped here in spite of the closed hotels and quiet atmosphere . The ski lift was operating (spring!) and for $100 peso we were able to go up on the chair lift. The views from the top are beautiful and you can see the penitentes.... More
