The monument is larger than life and tells a compelling story of the land and people, battles, victories and defeats. It is well worth the walk up - views are spectacular. We happened to be visiting during a holiday and lots of visitors were gathering...More

This monument stands out towering over the village and is perhaps a bit over the top. Nonetheless good views can be had from around the base and the cactus add to the spectacle.

The monument is nothing special, but there is a nice view from the monument. You can see the city and the beautiful colorfull mountains.

My wife & I decided to climb the hill to the monument on a very hot day (and at nearly 3000 metres, it's quite high altitude)! We took our time, enjoyed the views, but weren't sure it was worth the effort.

From here you have the best view of the City of Humahuaca. Los Cardones are big and different. just below that you have the Flea Market.

A very great tribute. The statue sits above the town square and overlooks the clock tower and local shops. A must stop to get a picture.

Its good, however it's not possible to get to the top! It's interesting the take of the artist to the independence event!

This enormous monument in Humahuaca is totally out of character for the architecture, culture and geography of the region. It is a worthy and necessary monument, but not his design.
