You may take a one day tour from Salta, or if possible take your time to stay one or two days in each of the small villages on your way to La Quiaca, northen point in Argentina. Mandatory to visit in Argentina

Good place to visit if one is interested in pre-Hispanic history combined with uphill walks. Right at the entrance there is a video room that explains how the Quechua/Incan ruins were reconstructed in the 20th century and what they had to do. The video lasts...More

The site is interesting, although mainly rebuilt. I suggest to combine it with the visit to the archeological museum in Tilcara to better understand the history and habits of the population living in the pucara.

We were on the fence regarding a visit to this restored ruin and I’m glad we did. It’s very well restored and resembles Machu Picchu in some ways! It’s well worth a visit!

This place looks nice and it is a fun thing to do if you have some extra time. Probably a good thing to get a guide, so you can get some information. It’s a nice walk and the scenery is beautiful.

We arrived here in late afternoon which allowed for some nice light to photograph the cactus. Much of the village is reportedly rebuilt. It’s very interesting to see. There are rocky paths that may be too much for folks with mobility issues or strollers. I...More
