I went on pilgrimage to visit the virgin on the hill. The weather was very cold and it rained but nothing stopped thousands of believers to hear mass and receive the blessing of the quietness and peacefulness of the place. The tiny chapel built to honor the virgin and the tree in front of it where people leave rosaries as testimony... More

A beautiful place with a breathtaking view. If you are in need for some silence and being alone with yourself, this is the place to go. You can sense the spirituality all around this place. It is amazing. Don't miss it.

You can take the free shuttle bus from the car park but a walk up to the top through the woods will make you sweat and then you are rewarded with a good view over the city. As for the religious side of it, it's ridiculous, only for firm believers

Went several times with friends tat didn't know the place. It is a religious place with a very good view of the city of Salta and surroundings. Was a hike of about an hour going up, less coming down in a forest trail at about 1500 meters altitude. Now there are parking places much nearer with a good road so... More

the hike up is beautiful, and Saturdays is when thousands of people get up to be blessed. The view of Salta from the top is outstanding.

Well worth the walk up if you are able. It's not too tough but does take 45mins-1 hr. I went mid week so it was very quiet and peaceful when you got to the top. No queues to enter the chapel and I met nobody on the walk up or down the trail. Felt totally in the wilderness. Was well... More

I'm not a religious person and we went in the middle of the week. We were told on Saturdays, there are 1000's of people there. It is a good short very steep hike for the tiny parking lot to the chapel area. Must be quite. Very clean and well kept gardens. The view is amazing on all sides. Massive amounts... More

we walked up since there was a long line in the bus. it was a saturday but the lady wasn't there. the climb up prepares you to the atmosphere you'll experience, if you want to. some of us climbed praying while others were just climbing up as an excercise. it's an overall spiritual experience no matter what you believe in.
