Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It's a long drive on a dirt road, but lake Traful and the mirador over the lake is one of the most remarkable spots in the lakes district. The viewpoint is located high above the lake sitting on a cliff dropping all the way down to the lake. It offers views of the lake and the surrounding mountains that you don't get tired from watching especially in the afternoon when the sun starts setting. The road from Villa Traful to the highway is a masterpiece of "artist" nature with the most amazing rock formations one can think of

We visited Villa Traful on the last day of our 6 day trip to Bariloche. The village of Villa Traful is peaceful and very beautiful. The lake seems to stretch on forever. Some tips on getting there - from Bariloche our google maps took us the shortest route which involved a 33km stretch on a gravel road. The benefit is you come to the Mirador before reaching the village. The Mirador is 5kms from the village. When we returned to Bariloche we took the road Via Angosura which involves 27km of gravel but it is less bumpy than the road in. Go there it's worth it.

It was just breathtaking the view. The reflection of the scenery and the sky on the lake was simply amazing. Words and pictures cant describe how amazing the place is.

It is recommended to travel from Bariloche to San Martin first by the Seven Lakes Route and then back to Bariloche via Traful (in at least 2 days). Mirador Lago Traful is by far the nicest lookout point on the way.

We did the rita de los 7 lagos en on the way back we detoured towards Villa Traful. This is so worth it a detour. For me the scenery is even better than the lagos. Very interesting rockformations along the way.
We didn't stay overnight, but it seems like a great place to camp along the lake. Loads of fishermen.

There are few places I've been that are so stunningly beautiful, and this is Villa Traful, which is a small picturesque secluded alpine-like hamlet amongst spruce and pine at 800 meters above sea level where is not unusual to see a blanket of snow in winter time in the Province of Rio Negro, 70 kilometers north of Bariloche. I spent a two days of my honeymoon here. There are a few things to do: flyfishing, hicking, reflecting, and if you're in your honeymoon, enjoying life. This place has been taken out of a story book. The lake, Truful, the mountains, the trees and the houses, make you want to stay in this litlle paradise for ever! Don't forget to visit it.

As we had some time on our hands and wanted to get ‘off the beaten track’ we set off along the 25 km of unpaved road to Villa Traful. The road was not too bad although it was pitted in places. Imagine our surprise when we arrived to find a modern bustling lakeside resort with metalled roads, restaurants, hotels, etc. Amazing to think that everything had come along that gravel road.

THe guidebook says Villa Traful is quieter than Bariloche, no doubt because it is only reached by driving on very poor gravel roads, (be prepared to change tyre). BUT this view is magnificent.

Si vas lento y tenés precaución, no vas a tener problemas.
