A strange little place that is like something from a bygone age. We had hired a car in Bariloche and went out along the lake shore. We almost missed the chairlift as there is only a VERY small car park as most people seem to...More

Bariloche is the lake district of Argentinian Patagonia. Cerro Campanario tops out at 1050 metres, which is not enormous, but the views at the top are absolutely stunning and we would highly recommend this trip. The chairlift take about 10 minutes, but the queues can...More

I decided to hike the cerro instead of taking the chair, and I’m glad I did. The hike is a bit strenuous but short: in 22 min I made the 0.8 miles and 789 feet elevation gain. I was sweaty but happy to reach this...More

Lovely lake and mountain views from on top. Very good snacks and hot chocolate in the small restaurant. This is certainly a place to take lots of photos to make people back at home jealous!

I was given local tips to pick cerro campanario over cerro Otto for great views of the lakes around Bariloche, and what I great advice this turned to be. You have 360 degree views and it a perfect spot for pictures. After this we did...More

An easy-moderate hike up the dusty hill took 4 reasonably-fit adults ~20 minutes (Going slow would take ~30-40 with a few short rests). Beautiful panorama of surrounding lakes, forests, and mountain ranges. Cafe at the top fully stocked with beers, coffee options, snacks and cakes/pastries....More
