Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My friend and I hiked to the summit, it was a tough hike but worth it. The views are really incredible and it was good exercise, if a little tough at times. We decided to get the cable car down but when we arrived (an hour before closing) we were told we could not buy tickets as the ticket offices were closed. This seemed a bit ridiculous as there were many empty cars and many staff really not doing anything. Hugely disappointing end to a great hike.

I'd parked my car in The cerro otto's parking lot and there my car was broked and all my bags were stolen. I tried to talk to The establishment about it and they didn't care, The manager didn't want tô talk tô us and The workers didn't want tô help. I was there trying tô talk with someone responsible tô help us for 5 hours and nobody was there tô help and i saw a vídeo showing that my car was stolen with someone with The cerro otto's clothes. I advise tô not go There, it's not safe its not safe.

We took the cable car up to the top of Cerro Otto. It was too windy to hike farther up, and in fact by the time we wanted to come down they had closed the cable car due to wind. That caused some confusion as it turned out we were supposed to get our names on a list to get on a bus. In the end we had to wait a couple of hours, so we had lunch in the revolving restaurant. The food was good and the service excellent. So we had a good time there.

Buy your tickets from the bureau on San Martin ave and enjoy a bus journey from there in the middle of Bariloche to the cable car and a return journey included. Excellent value trip especially for over 65s .!!Amazing 360 degree views from the top of Cerro Otto.

Ok so a different type of review. My wife and I ran up to and back down from Cerro Otto this morning. It is 16k from town and took just over 3 hours. It is very runnable with no real steep parts (600 m elevation gain). As you leave town going towards the cable car station you will see a road on the left to “Piedras Blancas”. Take that and keep going. Incredible views of the lake all the way up. Of course you don’t have to run. You can walk !

We really enjoyed taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain- it is further than it looks from below! The views from the top are spectacular and there are hiking trails for those who want to explore further, which we did and enjoyed. But the best thing is the 360 degree revolving restaurant that very slowly revolves as you sit at your table so that you can enjoy the views in all directions. We've never seen anything like that! We recommend getting there by 9:30 and you'll be able to walk right in with no lines and the wind is calmer in the morning.

We went up Cerro Otto by teleferico, cable car but walked down after a good coffee and tostada in the restaurant. The restaurant rotates! Absolutely wonderful walk down though it’s about 5 miles.
But worth it. Brings you into the middle of Bariloche.
Highly recommended on a good day of summer 👍

Take the cable car to the top & it opens the door to tons of activities - hiking/biking during the summer - all the winter sports during snow season. The many cabins dotted throughout the area give you a place to warm up or just sit & relax. Incredible views in all directions.

You can go up walking, by car or gondola. I don't know if there are other trails up but I saw people walking on the road which isn't a nice walk at all. The gondola costs 900 pesos and includes the entrance to the complex on the top. If it's windy they stop the gondola. If you go by car there is a small parking lot at the entrance. Only the entrance costs 600 pesos (making the gondola 300 pesos). I don't think it's worth walking up because you have to pay the entrance fee anyway to access the view points and the rotating restaurant. The restaurant is lovely, not very expensive. We had some craft beer and some lovely local cheese and cold cuts.

We took the gondola up to Cerro Otto and were positively surprised. There are a few walks up on top, we saw a few condors cruising past and had an awesome view from various lookouts. Also recommend to get some food in the restaurant to enjoy the 360 views.
