Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is the postcard of the city, where the Roca statue, the Municipality and other government buildings are located. The characteristic stone and wood constructions have that charm that makes one want to take many photos. And being next to the lake gives it even more charm. This is where the main street, Mitre, begins, full of chocolate shops, ice cream parlours, bars and other businesses. But in my opinion, this site does not have the care it should have from the municipality. The statue of Roca is all painted and so is the floor of the plaza. They should clean the monuments and put up surveillance to prevent the heart of the city that all visitors are going to know from continuing to be ruined.

It is not expected that in a beautiful tourist city like @bariloche.argentina, docile animals are explored in the middle of the central square, serving as objects for their owners to take photos with tourists for hours on end, subjecting themselves to tiredness, thirst and exhaustion. Unfortunately, I was witness to this sad episode with the Saint Bernard called Rosa, one of many who are exposed on the street, and who, visibly exhausted, would be happier without being told to sit down and get up every minute, because, as you can see, they just want to rest. This is called mistreatment and it is regrettable that tourism supports these scenes.

There are no words to describe the beauty of this civic center... By far one of the most charming places in Bariloche. The rustic-style works associated with the lake view create a unique visual impact. It's very worth it.

Bariloche really is beautiful. Its architecture is remarkable and everything attracts attention.
The only bad thing was a lady who is located in front of the Municipality, near the Roca monument, with a beautiful Saint Bernard dog charging anyone who wants to take photos with him. When we approached her to ask how much she charged for photos, she was very rude to us, waved us away and yelled “no! No! leave me alone". Since we didn't understand what was happening, we approached him again and asked him what was happening, to which he responded “Get out of here, Rat”!
We didn't understand anything, really. We thought that maybe he treated us that way because we were Chilean. Bad for her.
Other than that, it is a beautiful place.

The city center is a charm, but I thought it would be bigger. We went in the high season and there was a large volume of teenagers on excursions, which made it impossible to walk on the sidewalks. Unless I'd scream everywhere. We only stayed there for a few minutes to meet and take pictures, and then we went to enjoy other tours.
Ah, besides the civic center we took the opportunity to meet the local producers' fair.

It has a lot of charm to meet it once, now if you went to Bariloche several times you will find it the same, even lackluster. And unfortunately with the statue of Julio Roca vandalized. I recommend the fairs that are found in the plazas one block up.

Despite it is not a too elder building, less than 100 years, it is the image of Bariloche City, and it deserves a visit and some pics too. The Bariloche main street (Calle Mitre) begins in this square. There you will find many restaurants and stores.

Representative square of Bariloche, with the statue of Roca and the scarves of hounds and Mothers of Plaza de Mayo around it. Swiss style, with museums, offices, and views of Lake Nahuel Huapi. It begins the commercial street and nearby is the Nahuel Huapi National Park Administration.

It is the emblematic place of the city center. It is picturesque and very particular. But a little neglected, they could innovate a little and decorate it not only for Christmas, but also during the year they could give it a twist to add an attraction.

Buen viaje..!
