Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was an Experience worth recommending in any case, a must-see I would say to learn about the history of the Estancia. Everything was very well prepared and delicious, what was served was very delicious. The dinner was a 10 for me, abundant, rich and accompanied by a number of songs and dances from the area. You can't miss it if you visit Calafate. Its value is totally worth it

The afternoon visitation is amazing!
The carreteiro coffee with tarta frita and all the explanation and visit guide is really amazing!
Specially Pancho, who explains everything very carefully with details!
I totally recommend book the afternoon guide tour with dinner show. It’s really cute and amazing place!

The grounds are just on the edges of town, so you can't feel really like in an estancia. Nice demonstration of sheep shearing and short show of a gaucho rounding the sheep herd with a border collie. Also, bottle feeding of a calf and of a lamb to satisfy the urban crowd. The staff was very friendly but speaks little English (i.e. 90% of the talk is in Spanish and only 10% in English). The food was pretty nice (appetizers & a small glass of wine by the creek, then a salad bar, lamb on the spit, sausages, desserts in the restaurant) but wine was extra. The show is pretty short (20 minutes maybe) and nothing special really (one musician, 2 dancers). For what amounts to basically US$100 for two, you would expect more and the wine should definitely be included.

We enjoyed the sheep shearing & learning about the ranch in a group but the thing that really stood out for us was riding a horse down by the lake. We organised to go back the next day for private horse riding (very reasonably priced) - we went for a ride with the owner of the Estancia who was very helpful giving us instruction as we are beginners. After 30 minutes we were racing around the most wonderful natural setting we have ever seen - its just spectacular with the mountains in the background behind the turquoise lake, condors soaring overhead, hares dashing across the ground and all the time the sheep dogs following your horses.

Thanks very much!

I wasnt too sure about booking this tour however so glad I did. The Estancia was very beautiful . Got to know a lot about the everyday routine at the farm. Also tasted some good coffee made by dunking a smokey charcoal, mulled wine and snacks before the big fiesta we had for dinner. Dinner was delicious and much more impressive then expected. Alcoholic beverages are extra however very reasonably priced. I had a fund evening and would recommend this tour for everyone.

We just loved our later afternoon/evening at la Estancia 25 de Mayo. We are a family with kids of 6 and 8 years. The tour was very interesting and the staff was super nice with the kids. We loved the dinner, especially for the quality of the meat, but also for the good vibe of the place. Strongly recommended for families!

A different world at this farm. Wonderful local drinks, food and entertainment from the animals and people.

This tour was included as part of our stay at the hotel that is part of the estancia. We were only expecting a quick walk around the grounds, but it turned out to be a 2+ hour tour with samples of Yerba Mate, "cowboy coffee" and local bread. It included a visit to the greenhouses (with more snacks), sheepdog demonstrations, and sheep shearing. It wasn't until late in the tour that we realized dinner was included in the tour (which would, understandably, be an additional cost). We skipped the meal, so not able to comment on the quality of the food or dinner entertainment.

While we were the only non-Spanish speakers, our charming guide took time to recap everything in excellent English.

we thought we were going to head to a distant estancia and experience the real thing but we ended up in a reproduction of the very experience we wish we could have lived. Anyway the host were friendly...we learned something and kids had fun as there was plenty of space ..

We chose this event because it included the cultural dancing and songs of the people. It was interesting to see the sheep rounded up especially the working dog. The cake and charcoal in the coffee from the fire was a different laid back snack. The weather was good as we watched a ewe sheared. They were very open to questions. We took a short walk to the "gazebo" and sipped wine and tried a delicacy as we watched the gaucho with the dog and sheep as a sparkling stream flowed merrily by. Looked at a greenhouse similar to ours at home. Had a delicious meal. The salad was everything one would expect and more and the meat was bar-be-cued in front of us behind glass. The after dinner show was lively, colorful, and entertaining. This was a very enjoyable evening. We also enjoyed the people from Argentina who were also on this tour. Too bad we couldn't speak Spanish.
