Inside the “Estancia Huyliche” we find the Huyliche Hill, 10 minutes away from El Calafate, which allows access our 4 x 4 Land Rovers to "Balcones de El Calafate" a scenic spot 900 meters over sea level. From “Balcones de El Calafate” you will see Argentino’s Lake, El Calafate city, Mount Fitz Roy and Torre and the rising of Perito Moreno Glacier. On the route you'll visit a site consisting of sedimentary rock from the late Cretaceous period, petrified wood chips, shark teeth, ma-rine oysters and fossilized bones from that age, giving the trip an extra value. On the way we'll make 4 stops to enjoy 3 viewpoints and "El refugio." Here we'll offer lunch or afternoon service. The stops are a very good opportunity to take pictures of the landscape and eventually enjoy the appearance of condors, eagles, guanacos and foxes. Before reaching our final stop, there is an optional 15-20 minutes hike between high rocks and vegetation heading to view point of the Moyano valley.

Our party of 4 did the off-road adventure during the morning of our last day in El Calafate. We all agreed it was a great way to conclude our visit. We had spent two days in Los Glaciares National Park, so this was a great...More

We went to see the glaziers the next day and this by comparison was a dud. You are crammed in with a bunch of other people in an uncomfortable Land Rover for a long time. The view is nice but not worth it. My boyfriend...More

If you reserve this excursion, by all means do it in the morning, so the midday lunch is included. Starting point is at about 10 a.m. from your hotel in a 4 x 4 Land Rover. Once the car enters the Huiliche estancia, it goes...More
